alright, I am new to this, going on a day here lol so maybe this is normal. I have some things that are going on and I don't know what the possible problem could be-- if there is one. ANYWAYS, I just put a charged battery on my 901, and it's like I have to drag real hard to get it to light up and work. With the last battery I had on, it wasn't like this, in fact I got the best results from a slow soft drag, but this one it's crazy different? I put 5-6 drops in my cart... how many puffs does this usually last (I know it's different for everyone) also, how many can my cart hold? I know on the vid I watched on here it said look for pooling, but I am scared to get to that point, so I just usually stop after 5 or so... help please. I just don't get it yet. sorry :( How often do you have to clean the atty? I watched the hour long video, but she said that people prefer to clean it before it cleans itself or something along those lines, but I don't know when it will clean itself ya know? I am having a hard time using search feature, so if basic care has already been discussed, which I'm sure it has, could you point me in the right direction?

feel free to ignore me if I am asking too much! :) I promise to return the favor one day when I know more and people need answers!! hahah

You could have a weak or bad battery. I would try a different atomizer to see if it makes any difference.

On the cart, you want it to be moist ALL the time. 5-6 drops usually isn't enough if it is a fresh or very dry cart. You want it to be visibly moist but not a bubble of liquid on the top. If it does bubble some, then use a toothpick or paper clip and pull out the filler some to work the liquid down into the cart.

I rotate my atty's with my flavors (3). I set the atty on a paper towel and use a can of air duster to blow it out through the hole and then let it sit for several hours. I clean them using Brew Rite coffee machine cleaner about once a week and then use boiling water to rinse them out very good after letting them sit in the Brew Rite for 5-6 hours.

When you go to use a cleaned or new atty, I suggest putting 2-3 drops of liquid on the coil to avoid that burnt taste.

okay, I have more to add about the battery that I have to take a real hard drag on, while I am still puffing in, the led goes on and off... weird? would the only cause of this be the battery? or something else I am doing wrong, I took my atty out and blew through it and got some stuff out that seemed to help a bit but not much... I am going to put some more liquid in my cart now

If you drag too hard for too long the light will flash and the 901 will be unco-operative for a little while - have a look in the instruction bklet.

What else has happened to me? Oh yes, also watch you dont have yr thumb over the air intake hole on the side of the atty.

Keep trying! Rotate the batteries often - when you think they are getting wimpish.

Hope that's of some help.

I didn't get a booklet with mine, I tried to look it up online but can't find one.

I just refilled my cart back to the top, blew out my atty, and the battery is still funky but working.. I think I will just put it back on the charger soon and give it a break for a while.

A certain amount of air needs to go through the battery for the switch to work correctly. I had one that acted like this and am awaiting a replacement.

With nothing to lose I popped the end lens off the battery and cut the two grooves into slots so more air can pass then snapped it back on. This battery now works great and is my preferred battery.

a 901 cartridge (new empty) can hold 10-12 drops depending on the size of the dropper.

Sometimes my attys take a couple days to break in, tho I doubt this is the problem from what you describe.

There are "old" and "new" 901 attys. (And I forget which is which) one of then basically takes up more cartridge space than the other.
Is it possible your cart filling is matted down reducing your airflow? Stir it up with a straightened paper clip. Stick the paperclip in the center of the fill material and work it back and forth until you can feel it hit the bottom of the cart.

Be careful of canned air on your atty. Some people swear by it. I've killed 2 with it.

Let your atty set overnight with the battery screws facing up on a tissue to drain. That's all I've ever done to my favorite one and it's still working great. Prime it with just 2 -3 drops before you use it. Don't use more or you'll flood it. (Not a big problem if you have a replacement. It just needs draining overnight. It still works after that)

That6's all I can think of right now, but you might have "almost flooded" your atty from what I read.

Airflow is also a possibility, I have also vaped with my finger over the airhole. Thought I had a dead atty:rolleyes:

Hey, Princess, thanks for the heads up on the can of air duster. I may have to stop doing that although I found it easier than blowing on them by mouth. I'm curious, how do you know it was the air duster can that killed them? Much appreciated.

Performance went down, but it was still working. I know I should have just let it drain overnight, but I wanted that flavor, and it's very strong, so I didn't use it with my other attys. It lingered. (Blackberry)

I sprayed it with canned air, using the red tube. Let it set to warm up to room temp, probably about 5 minutes. Screwed it in and nothing 8-o

Hubby took it apart and said 2 tiny wires in there were broken. He thought the air was too strong and broke them.:(

I'll just add my two cents. You could very well have some kind of battery or atomizer problem, that's totally possible.

Anyway, I've had my 901 for about a month, so I'm relatively new to this as well. When I first got the thing, it took me a little over a week to kinda "get used to it" and have it work FAIRLY consistently, which it does now, but can be inconsistent still.

At first I was just like "man, this thing doesn't work" and I didn't know why anyone would want to mess with it really. And it still is quite a high maitenence habit really, and my 901 is still inconsistent. Maybe I haven't figured it all out yet and probably not.

Anyway, as long as there's no faulty equipment, the longer you do this, the better it gets, in my experience. I had to learn what was wrong when, why the thing wasn't working sometimes, etc. I can pretty much pin point a problem now, with just basic information.

But yeah, my 901 was difficult to use and figure out at first, and all my equipment was fine, I'm still using the same atomizers and batteries, so they're okay.

Just my 2 cents.

well, I went to the other battery and all was fine. I charged the other one back up and when I went to use it again this morning it happened again, I had my husband try it to see what I was talking about, and he did it fine with no problems and I've been using the same batt all day with no problems like yesterday. I don't know what the heck is up with it. I didn't do anything to any other parts. Maybe I almost flooded it like somebody else said and it dried out and became normal again. I am not too great with filling the carts yet so this is a possibility.
