What about a "non genuine" ego? Do they use the same threads? I'm asking because I got an ego tank with an adapter to use with my 808

You may have to get a 510 extender, but if the description says 510 threaded then it should work. Now the outer threads on the ego I don't believe just any will work, however I'm not versed with the types of ego outer threading

Does "808 ego" mean it is compatible with the kr808 cartos, etc?

Yup, sure does. In theory at least. The stuff at v4l is compatible with kr808d threading. Actually their carts will work with any of their batteries.. Except their mods. I only saw 1 510 tank on the site for their variable volt mod.. They do sell the adapters though. (just in case).

I got an ego tank from madvapes (It hasn't come in the mail yet) and I got a 808-ego adapter for it also but I just looked and the egos they sell are 808 threaded so now i am wondering if I even needed the adapter! The thread type is not listed for the tank though it just says ego. Oh well I guess we will see when it comes in the mail

Misread that one, sorry, if it is an ego tank with 510 threading and ego 'outside' threading, there may be an issue. On a whim I got a couple of sunrise ego clearomizers that don't quite work. The 510 post isn't connecting with the battery. Works with regular 808's and adapter though.

Hello everyone, anyone know a reputable supplier of inexpensive genuine eGo's? I am new to vaping and am currently using a kr808 and find myself wanting something more. Thanks!

Zee Cigs. Excellent supplier. $55 for eGO starter kit...2 complete cigs, charger, and a bunch of carts filled and unfilled. Lots of great vids on the site to watch too.

Smokeless Image has their X2 which is an eGo style battery with 808 threads that will use all of the attachments you are currently using on your 808. Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | Volt X2 Battery Passthrough - Accessories

The advantage to this over a genuine Joytech eGo is that the Smokeless Image X2 is regulated to 3.6 volts rather than the lower 3.4v that the joytech eGo vapes at.

Other options are a Kgo which also vapes at a higher voltage but has 510 threads or spend a couple of bucks more and get an eGo Twist which has variable voltage

Can I use my 808 charger with it?

Remember, ego is a thread type. Kgo's, x2, joyetech and many others all have ego threads.

Genuine joyetech ego products are sold at many places. The cheapest place I have found is Altsmoke.com. They sell the joyetech 650mah twist for $23 and the 1000mah for $26. If you register with them first, then add your products to the cart, you can use coupon code FIRSTORDER for 10% off. They also have a Facebook coupon for 10%.

Altsmoke also sells the ego t and other genuine joyetech products. The "t" refers to the tank portion they have, which IMHO isn't that great.

I bought my first starter kit from Shawn at Zee Cigs. That is when I quit analogs. Shawn's videos are very informative
and helpful for new vapers. I also got a box of the sampler juice from Zee cigs too. The bottles are super tiny but it gives a new vaper a chance to try different flavors. Zee Cigs has great customer service.

i know what you wouldn't want...cheap ego-t set. i bought mine from a local store...i'm from malaysia by the way...and e-cigs are rapidly in trend, if you can believe that. I bought mine (2 ego batteries, charger, two ce4s) for RM 90...that's cheap...but of course it's an "OEM" ego set...the battery doesn't last as long...i guess buying from Joyetech is better? i wouldn't know since the options i get in my country is limited...
