melloyello, it's because some ego gear (ego-T, EMDCC, etc) have a recessed connector beneath a "skirt" that, on an ego batt, would go down low enough to cover the cone threads. This skirt makes either an extender or an ego adapter necessary on most non-ego 510 devices
oh whew! thanks. i have few emdc's but not too impressed with them on my ego, i can live without them.
I may need to get some. I've got some more VEs and Fluxos on their way. I think they will be here tomorrow.
I really only want the extender so I can try my older eGo stuff on a real PV. ;-)

This was my first one too and I love it
I've got the balck IP with brass caps, and couldn't be happier. I love it so much, I just purchased a used Infinity (non-Pro), that is also black with brass caps.
I like the brass color better, but am finding it harder to get items that match. Almost everything comes in chrome or silver color. Brass and golden colors are fewer and far-between.
