I've read so many reviews, watched tons of video reviews, and read a million posts on here. I think I may be further away from a decision then I was when I first started looking! I haven't seen a direct comparison between the tank 510 and the KR, but of course have looked at the debate between the regular 510 and KR. So, like most people starting out, I want it to look like a cigarette. I'd just as soon have 4 batteries, a pcc, and a passthrough for at home then have a huge battery. I'll likely change my tune later, but know when I do, I'll still want a look-alike for backup and social type events. V2 Cigs has a 20% off sale, and the ultimate kit I'm looking at comes with 3 batteries, a PCC, a regular case, a passthrough, and 25 cartomizers. I like the two piece design but I'm not set on it either. The tank sounds just as convenient, and I'm sure I'll head towards refilling for cost concerns anyways so maybe the tank option would be a better start? I know the 510 has a better "upgrage path." I'm just worried since the 510 runs at a bit less voltage I'll lose on throat hit? Some opinions would be greatly appreciated!

I don't really recommend the tank when you first start. You may have no problems at all, but if you do, it's not an easy fix for someone that has never vaped before. Once you've had your pv, you can always pick up the tanks and tank atty if you want to give it a try.

I don't know you or your smoking habits so it's difficult to give a recommendation. If you're a long term smoker, I'd recommend something with a bigger battery. If it looks like a cig but doesn't get you off cigs, what's the point? I started with an ego and 24 mg juice and was easily able to wean myself off cigs. My mom started with a couple different mini's that she liked but when she got the Riva she was able to get off cigs.

Small batteries last about 1 hour per 100 mah of continuous vaping. I happen to prefer the 510 mini, but you get a decent vape with a KR808 as well. I don't know the cost of the V2, but I wouldn't invest a great deal of money in a kit until you know it's for you. You can get an ego for about $30.

If you want a 510- MV is having a buy one, get one. Mention ECF in the comments. You can get 2 510 kits for $38- it'll give you 4 batteries, 2 chargers and a bunch of cartos.

If you do decide to go with a 510, most 510 starter kits come with cartridges and atomizers as opposed to cartomizers (cartridge and atomizer combined). I'd pick up a box of cartomizers (boge SR cartomizers) and fill with your own juice. It's a very simple thing to do and they taste better than most prefilled cartos.

Heyas Tripplezoom,

I like what Swedishfish had to say. I think it's a good idea to start small, until you know what you like. Not necessarily small as in batt size (that's up to you), but think about getting a starter kit with 2 batts, atties, and carts. Cost ~30-40 buckazoids. Throw in a box of cartos @ $5-10, a driptip for <$3. Even with shipping, you're looking at about $50 - $60. Throw in a passthrough for another 10 - 15 bux if ya want. Throw in 5 or 20 small bottles of juice, and you have a very large sampling of vaping options to try out to find what suits you.

For myself, I know that after I'd ordered my first setup, nothing quite fit my preconceived notions of what I'd like/dislike. And after trying everything out, I immediately found a half dozen other things I wanted to try. And so on and so forth...

My best advice is take the plunge, but try lots of different things, instead of thinking that your first purchase will be perfect. Experiment. That's a large part of the joy of vaping for me :vapor:

Happy hunting,

I love this site already. V2s are overpriced, for some reason that kit stuck out and a good warranty. Probably is a better idea to start small. I smoke about a pack a day of American Spirit menthol. They're fairly strong cigarettes, if I go to pall malls 100 menthols for the cheap factor I end up smoking about a half pack more it seems like. I was looking at pictures side-by-side of the ego and 510 and other than the ego being thicker with the 650 battery it seems a manageable size. Maybe try the ego-t for starters? I'm tech savvy and mechanically inclined, I don't forsee a tank being a problem. I guess I just need to order something!

Then do it!! Push the button! If you don't like it or you have issues, we're here to help. You may LOVE it and many people do. I would get a box of cartos as well. Boge 2.0. That way you can try both and see what you like best.

The tanks have that no muss, no fuss aspect to them. I had been vaping awhile but tried the tanks and loved them when I first got them. I had issues and I have zero patience, so I went back to cartos. But try them!

Get the ego-T and Joogler has a deal on cartos. Use the code ECF5OFF and get $5.00 off your first purchase. Plus you get a free bottle of juice.

For juice, I like nhalers nuport or his 555 menthol is good. Backwood Brew menthol is also a good juice.

I love my G6 KR808D-1 from Halo. Watch some of reviews on the G6, that is why I tried it. I have not seem a bad review on them. It is great for a looks like a cig slim style. Comes in nice colors, quality is there. Get the standard batts not the mini batts for longer life if you go with it. Halo e juices are great too. Anyway this one works for me very well. I also like their cartos, they are the horizontal coil ones, I prefer these myself. Happy hunting! bnrk

It isn't that big. If you want something small as well, you can always pick up an inexpensive 510. That way you can use the same cartos on both. Enter the contests! I won a great little 510 that I really like.

If you like vaping, this will be your first but probably not your last pv.

I've used an e-cig before, my dad's NJOY NPro. It was terrible when it was a cheapo 3 piece, then they changed to cartomizers and its ok. Liked the cartomizer version enough that I'm gonna get one. Just don't wanna get a KR808 if it's the same vapor production as the Npro. I like the idea of getting an ego-t for the 5 click battery (can always go to cartomizers if its too much fuss right?) And getting a 510 mini for "on the town" haha I'm still exploring the options, but I'm ordering something today without a doubt.

Watch some reviews on youtube so you can see what the vapor production is like on the unit you are thinking of. Vapor is also effected by PG and VG % in the ejuice. bnrk

What threading is the G6? Nice site, seems sleek. I read the review you linked to and it seemed real positive, especially considering some of the ones I was considering the reviewer had already tried. And I agree on the youtube reviews, I've watched a bunch. Easy to be thrown off on vapor production though depending on how they inhale. Anyone selling genuine joye ego-ts with a good sale/discount code?

It is a KR808D-1 batt for threading. The reviews for vapor production on the Halo is good for a slim ecig. I have tried others and Halo is the best slim type I have tried. But definitely look around and get what suits you best. Have fun! bnrk

Yeah, I'm coming around to that the more I hear of people only sticking with the minis for a short time or it not being a good substitute for the analogues. I'm really leaning towards the ego-t, the 510-T is barely cheaper. I want the 5 click on/off battery, and if the tank system isn't a winner when the atomizers go I'll get some carts. I'm not sure exactly where I should buy it at though. Liberty Flights only has the type-b version.

Both :) I got myself some KR808 batts, cartos and PCC from vapor4life to bring to work with me, also bring my e-power but that stays in the car. When I get home it is all Buzz Pro all Night. I have a slim 510 with PCC but I hate it, for slim new KR808 are just better. Lots of good sales going on rigght now also. Vapor4life is having 30% off and the previous mentioned sale at smokelessimage for the volt.

I was under the impression that the type -b was the better version.

I'm not sure of a good place to get the ego-T as far as price. LF always has good deal on starter kits. Cignot has ego-t's.

Both are really good vendors, I can't say enough good things about either. Both give great cs and go out of their way to help. I think they offer the same warranty as well.

That's odd that you say that. My mom has a V4L and a Volt and I have the Joye 510. Anyone that tries them all prefers the 510. Batteries aren't great, but none are really. Is your 510 a Joye? If I had to be completely honest, if I closed my eyes I might not notice a difference between them it's slight to me. But the 510 seems to hit better. Weird.

edit: I have picked up some cheapo 510 batteries that are pretty crappy.
