Ditto to everything in your beginning post, TripleZoom. I am in exactly the same boat. Have read posts and watched videos off and on all weekend. Agreed, it seems clear that for anyone just starting out, and seeking something as close as possible in looks and operation to an analog (Please don't anyone recommend an Ego - have read 12 pages of posts on this issue before I stopped, and didn't want to hear anything else), the 510 or KR8 is the way to go. Past that point of relative certainty, though, I've run into issues:

1) Is there any real difference between the 510 and the KR8? Both seem to be available as two piece models that can use pre-filled cartomizers - correct or not?

2) Cartomizers for both appear to be available predominantly in black. batteries seem to be available in all sorts of colors, but not the cartos. What gives? I've found blank cartos in white, but not pre-filled. Can anyone recommend a supplier that has pre-filled cartos in white?

While I am very intrigued by possibilities available through dripping, my wife especially wants something that will approximate as closely as possible the smoking experience that she has now. If it requires too much messing or fiddling, she's not going to be interested in exploring it further - at least at this beginning point.

Any help/recommendations would be welcome.

I have seen cartos in different colors.V2 color codes with the flavor. Well, I just took the plunge. I just ordered an eGo-T from liberty flights (with some juice and an extra low resistance atomizer). I wanna kick the analogues, and I want a great reliable unit. I'm still gonna get a mini probably a KR808. I guess we'll see, but I took the step and I'm ready to vape on! Thanks for all the help all, especially swedishfish. Happy vaping!

Woot Tripplezoom,

Gratz on taking the plunge! I've ordered from LF twice now and have been very pleased with their service. They shipped the same day both times, usps priority mail both times, all for the $3 shipping charge. I just received some of their juices in my most recent order from them last friday. Their chocolate cream is fantastic, as is the DV strawbery tart. The DV terimisu (sp?) is also good, although a little bitter for me. Still have a few new flavors from them to try. I don't think you can go wrong with an ego-t. The batteries are great, even if you end up not liking the tanks.

Just figured out yesterday that part of my issue with the ego tank gear that I have appears to be not cleaning the atty's well enough. The tank setup had a plasticky (yes plasticky IS a word) taste that I assumed was coming from the plastic tanks. Took the tank off and took a hit directly from the atty and got the same flavor. So, although I thought I had cleaned the atties well enough before I started with them, I'm now hoping that it's just a matter of cleaning them more thoroughly. To that end I ordered an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner (On no. I have to buy more hardware? Yipee! *cough* I mean Drats!)

And in the mean time I still have my ever growing collection of cartos, clearos, and driptips to keep myself vaping. Hope you love the ego-t batts as much as I do!

That's odd that you say that. My mom has a V4L and a Volt and I have the Joye 510. Anyone that tries them all prefers the 510. Batteries aren't great, but none are really. Is your 510 a Joye? If I had to be completely honest, if I closed my eyes I might not notice a difference between them it's slight to me. But the 510 seems to hit better. Weird.

edit: I have picked up some cheapo 510 batteries that are pretty crappy.

My slim 510 was from altsmoke, and I think even with some Boge~2.5 Cartos on the slim 510, new KR808 cartos hit better. Don't get me wrong, for my home device Buzz Pro with 510 top, nothing gets better. Basicall y I am just saying slim/pen style KR808 > Slim/pen 510.

Thanks, DoubleHelix! I've been trying to weigh the relative merits of both, but, as TripleZoom points out, there is SO MUCH information out there that it is not an easy task to assess the two. I really appreciate you input. If I may say so, your reply is one of the few straightforward ones I've seen on this forum so far.

You are welcome. Enjoy. I just like keeping my travel PV and Home PV separate, I can not really stealth vape at my desk with my e-power, but like I said I bring it and leave it in the car for after lunch. But while in the office, I can pull out the KR808 in a few places.

And do not let the info overload get to you too much. Get yourself some batts, juice, cartos, atties, whatever. And just enjoy! Me personally though would not buy an Ego-T.

I have a joye 510, which I got right after my gas station one, and really like it. My next step was the eGo, a passthru that actually charges while you vape, and you can unplug and vape on the go. My cartos fit both, so when I want the small 510, I'm good, or if I want the bigger batt and slightly better hit, I have the eGo. Just what I like, everyone has different tastes and preferences, so go with what you feel will satisfy you. Good luck

My thinking is that if you vape with an ecig, it should not look like a cigarette. People will just hassle you for smoking in a non-smoking area. If it's obvious that it's not a cigarette, and it doesn't smell like a cigarette, they will leave you alone.

Bigger batteries help change the look as well as give you longer vaping time. Anything that prevents being tied to a charging source is a good thing.

@Maximillian: the battery is one of the reasons i chose the ego-t. I like the 5-click safety switch, and from everything i've read, there's no doubt in my mind an ego battery is a solid choice regardless of the atty/carto/tank, etc. Sooo, if i end up going with cartos or lr 510 atty i'll still have the batt! All those flavors you listed sounded tasty; strawberry tart and chocolate cream are on my next order for sure! I didn't wanna order TOO much juice in case PG ends up not being my thing, or something of the sort. Liberty Flights shipping is great. Can't believe the 20% off button AND $3 priority mail! It's on the truck for deliver today. Wooooo!!! It went all the way from California to Tennessee (and the faaaar eastern part) in 3 days. Not too shabby. I can't wait to give up my smelly .... analogs and my smokers cough! Got a pack of cigarettes left and that'll likely be my last. I'm really excited. I'm glad i stopped rolling on and on with my endless research and just ordered something. Gotta start somewhere and, as has been stated, it's my first PV purchase but probably not my last! Thanks for everyones input it helped out a lot. It's 9:30am here, i can't wait for the mailmal. Unfortunately my house is about the last on the route, and the batt has to get charged up...But i'll be vaping here in no time at all. =) Do you have to leave the batteries on the charger for 8hrs or so like most batteries the first time you charge it or not?

@DaveP: That's kind of the reason i was gonna go with a black ecig with a blue LED, but there's no way they'll mistake my eGo-T type B for a cigarrette! Haha
There aren't as many reviews on the type B as the type A, so i'll probably add my review to the rather small pile after i use it for a few weeks. From what i've read the type B is generally recieved as better and, of course, it has a much larger tank. The only "complain" i've heard is with standard resistance the vapor was fairly cool. Hopefully that won't be too much of an issue for me. Just want it to feel similar to an analog with throat hit and such. It looks like an ego makes more vapor than an analog makes smoke!

I've used an e-cig before, my dad's NJOY NPro. It was terrible when it was a cheapo 3 piece, then they changed to cartomizers and its ok. Liked the cartomizer version enough that I'm gonna get one. Just don't wanna get a KR808 if it's the same vapor production as the Npro. I like the idea of getting an ego-t for the 5 click battery (can always go to cartomizers if its too much fuss right?) And getting a 510 mini for "on the town" haha I'm still exploring the options, but I'm ordering something today without a doubt.

I was a NPro (RN4081)user. I have since moved to using Bloog (KR808) gear. BIG difference. Bloog has an easier draw, and much better vapor production. Plus IIRC Bloog stuff is a bit less expensive compared to the NPro counterparts. Nice thing about the Bloog's is that they feel almost like a real analog size wise, but with a blue LED. So less hassle from the non-smokers, and building security. Just my two cents..
