Hi Everyone,
I am here to introduce myself and get some advice. Oh and I am redgirl's big sister.

I have been smoking 2 packs of full flavored camels for 35 years. I have been flirting with quitting for about 3 years. I have some experience with vaping. Have 4 vaping setups that haven't done the trick yet. I know there is one out there I just need help finding it.

My setups:

puresmoke - comes in a pack like an analog, prefilled carts, look like an analog, totally disgusting. This wouldn't even make a rating on a 1 - 10 scale.

Best e ciggy penstyle - a 901 with small carts that you have to fill, not enough vapor and 2 batteries for it is not enough to last me a day. I only got maybe 7 hits before I had to refill. I ended up direct dripping on the atty. I would rate it a 3 for overall experience.

A mod box given to me by the best baby sister ever, Redgirl - It has a drip tip, better than the other 2 but it has leaking issues, battery life is also an issue. I don't think that this is built to last. I would rate this at a 5.

I visited Redgirl and my new niece last month and she sent me home with her hello kitty chuck. I love it but I have some issues with it also. We ordered new LR attys for it and had them sent to my house. I got home and only can get 1 of them to even screw on. I think i am an overdripper.
There is a technique to get the button to work. I use it at 3.7 volts. I would rate this an 8.

Here is my situation:
I am gearing my self up to try and quit again and I want a setup and a back up that I can count on. Quitting for 6 months and then going back on the analogs is so disheartening. I have done this 4 times (once with the penstyle, the rest cold turkey), I don't know how many more times I can take it. So I want the perfect setup...crossing my fingers for some great advice.

I want a New setup
I am pretty sure I want a mod.
I only like a couple of juices ( VS frisco & VS frost @ 35 mgs) I have tried many.
I want to try DIYing my own juice.
I am going to clean the hello kitty chuck inside and out. I hope it will be my backup. Love the battery life. Should I try it as a 6 volt?
I want to try a tank type cart.
I am thinking a new chuck or a Joker vairable.

Any and all advice will be so greatly appreciated. If you can't tell I have a bit of OCD about researching and getting the perfect product. I have been a member and reading everything here for a year and a half.

Thank You Experts,
Wicked

A bit out of my league - my mods are simple plastic boxes. Think backups. Consider cartomizers - every one a fresh atty (Boge are simplest and most popular for 510 threading) - I can get 10 days use out of each. Or get spare atomizers and keep them clean, LR atomizers can bite the dust with no warning.

Re getting stuff to screw on - 510 threading? If it screwed in but did not electrically connect, try the 2-piece shorty extender from Madvapes.com

Juices - try FreedomSmokeUSA Desert Ship. I never smoked camels but it smells nutty/pungent like a freshly opened pack and I think it is similar to Camels (Turkish/American blend).

Hi Dormouse,
It has a 510 fitting but there have been problems with it in the past. A pack of 5 new attys and only one works....who knows I want to send the chuck in and have it all gone over and have it in tip top shape before I start in earnest. I kinda need something for my new setup that I don't have drip into. I quilt for a living and I am worried about spilling on fabric and such. The freedom smoke shop looks great I just ordered some juice from them thanks for the tip. OH do you know Regirl?? was just in Penn last month visiting.

I use Boge 510 cartomizers but they only hold 1ml. Some people use big juice tanks, some of which have CE2 carto guts and some take a whole steel carto inside that has been pre-punched to put a hole in the side. I think Clouds of Vapor sells some of both kinds but there are many more, some machined out of stainless steel etc. I have no used them, I don't know if they leak, I don't know if there are better choices. You could start a new thread and ask about most leakproof large tanks.

Can your chuck stand on end? because some of these tanks might leak if laid down.

Mixed in with the juice-feeder mods here you will find some tank devices

First off, there is no perfect product. There's only what works for you. You said vaping didn't work for you before. If you told us what didn't work that might help. A price range would be good too. My advice would be not to spend a whole lot until you know you're going to keep vaping. Something like a roughstack or epower from madvapes wouldn't be a bad choice. Maybe some dual coil cartos to go with it. A atty or two and a drip tip for sampling and you're good. Save your money for the latest cool gizmo after you know you're staying with it.

You really haven't said why your previous excursions into vaping failed. So I can only guess. However, if you went straight from smoking to vaping exclusively, that might be the problem. Some people can do that with no problem. Most can't. What I and a lot of others have done is to continue to have 3 or 4 cigarettes a day. When you have them, that's all you do. No sitting at the computer, watching TV, etc. Really notice how they taste and make you feel. Vape all you want in between. After a while, you'll probably find that you really aren't looking forward to those cigarettes. Then it's time to drop them.

If they leak, toss 'em. But, that can get expen$ive.

OP, how 'bout making your own SYRINGE TANKS? If ya want to try one, LMK and I'll send ya one. You'll just have to provide a 510 carto and punch a couple of holes in it, as explained in the link I provided.

They do work well and I luv 'em...

Wicked...welcome to posting !!

There is so much that is new in the past year it is hard to tell you where to turn ! Maybe stroll the reviews & the suppliers forums (I did when looking for my first "something special") People will pop in with things and you can go look at them.

Wanted to say tho that your new niece is adoreable !! Red posted pics !

I think all that saw fell in love !

Great luck to you this time :)

+1 for that advice. I've seen some hardcore smokers need to keep smoking 3 or 4 a day throughout their vaping experience.

I'd also say that the number of atomizers you mention as bad out of the box is weird unless you got them from the worst vendor ever. They can become loose and not make a good connection also, so maybe try fiddling with the connector. There are 1000 (I didn't count) videos on youtube talking about loose atomizer/cartomizer connections and how to fix. Google is your friend.

It sounds like you're the type of vaper that likes the huge hit of the mods. One thing to try is the XL cartomizers, maybe dual coil if you like hotter vapes. I've grown to like the ce2 (fluxomizer or 'v5') and ce3 cartomizers, but a lot of people complain about them. I don't mind the syringe filling and the horizontal coils seem to wick better for me, most I've ever had to do is prime the wick. Again many reviews out there ... like I said many of them are negative, but I've had a different experience, and it makes you wonder when they're sold out all the time.

One final note, if you're going to go for the best pv I'd recommend a variable voltage or wattage device. That gives you the greatest range of what you can experiment with in the accessories department (atomizer/cartomizer/tank/etc), and lets you try your juices at different heat to get the best flavor. There are some good big names out there and I have a Darwin, but I'd also recommend Shan mods, or on the least expensive end a simple box mod from madvapes or something on the classifieds here in ECF.

Good Luck! Let us know how it goes!

Mine were USA Gold Full Flavor 100's, 2 PAD and 38 years. What did it for me was a passthrough and a box mod, both 5 volts from Madvapes. I needed more power to switch from analogs. 3 and 2.5 Ohm cartos I think would be a good start too. My last 5 packs of smokes lasted 20 days. After two weeks just vaping I lit a smoke and man was it bad! PM if you have more questions and good luck, you can do it!

Oh heck, there's a Hello Kitty mod??? darn, and I thought I loved my variable power mod....

I don't think I have much to offer on the mod side of things but as far as tanks go, there's the Bud Sapphire from Got Vapes. I'm not keen on carto's full stop, which wiped modded tanks, so am in search of something as close to 'out of the box' as possible. Bud Sapphires rate a solid 8 from me. (there's a new version on it's way, apparently).

All the best with it wickedalibi... just the fact that you're still at it? I reckon you're gonna get there.

You all are full of great advice, mostly the reason for not kicking the analogs is me. A full day of reading today and I think the problem with the attys is a loose connector and it needs to be sent in. The mod I am talking about is a chuck built for redgirl who sent in a hello kitty graphic and had that put on it. There is a picture of it on the thagbuilt vendor forum here. Juxt4poz I think was my problem cold turkey on the analogs then straight to vaping. Also knowing next to nothing about it to start with. i have been vaping and analogs for 3 weeks now and the analogs are getting nasty. My eyeballs are crossed from reading so much today.

ohhh Hairball you echo my research today and you own a Buzz and a Provari which one is easier to change the voltage on??? which one do you prefer?? One of them easier to fit with a tank???

I actually own 5 Buzz classics and 1 BuzzPro. I like the BuzzPro over the Provari. It's quicker just to move the dial than to constantly press buttons. Only downfall, but it isn't for me (I'll explain) is you don't know what voltage you're at on the Buzz. I don't worry about "knowing" what voltage I'm at...personally I don't care where it's at. If it tastes great, then that's where my dial stays. Hubby use the ProVari's that I have because they are just too heavy for me and too many bells and whistles to go wrong with them. Both models can be easily used with a tank. I recommend a shorty 510/510 sealed extension from madvapes for use with either one. I use them to protect all of my mods except for my bottom feeders.

How much of a PITA is the Provari? I've watched some videos on it and it just seems like too much button pushing to get things how you want. I want to jump to a VV (don't really want a boxmod one) and have considered it. My roommate made a passthrough out of a computer power supply and I've found I really like vaping at 6+ volts, but don't want to do that all the time.

It's not really a PITA. It's just a heavy mod. I don't like that because I have nerve damage in both of my hands. As for button pushing, you get used to it but eventually (and this in just my opinion) that button is going to crapout sooner than the BuzzPro's dial will. Plus, some reports are starting to appear on the forums of problems with the LCD screen and error codes. I haven't had any problems yet but they aren't used like my Buzz's are (hubby doesn't chainvape like I do). Mike (Buzzkill) at notcigs stands behind his products 110%. I have a Buzz that is out of warranty and the PCB fried on it. Mike replaced it with only the cost of postage. He wants to keep his customers happy.

Didn't think I'd like a box mod either but ended up using them more than my Prodigy. Now I've got the "Little Man" evercool by JamesW here on the forum. A very nice piece of equipment IMHO.

I sit at a sewing machine for work and have other people's fabric near me. I worry about spilling juice on them. I used to sit and smoke analogs when I sewed for myself but now I need to be careful so I am thinking a tank.

Blank Dual Coil Tank (DCT) Delrin | Most Angry Industries

Blank Dual Coil Tank (DCT) Stainless for MAP Tank | Most Angry Industries

I have gobs of tanks and prefer the 2 listed above because they fit tightly on the cartomizer. I don't use low resistance in the tanks because LR's will cause some leaking from the battery connector. I use ikenvape.com's 510 mega cartomizers but I think Isaac's site is still down....I don't know why but it's been down for some time. If you don't chainvape like I do, the dual coil cartomizers will work fine in these tanks...just allow some "cooling" time between vapes.

If you like tanks than you might like bottom feeders as well. They can hold 3ml - 10ml of juice depending on which one you choose. I personally like the REO Grand and mini. They are fully mechanical mods and so, you don't have to worry about dropping juice on them. I've even heard of a person dropping this in a bucket of water and it still worked.

The Grand can go from 3.7, 5, and 6V depending on the battery that's used. If your interested than here's a few links:
