Drilled out the holes, exterior and interior, as well as opening up the four slots on the battery connector (with a jeweler's file).

Hi sjohnson...could you post some pics of that, maybe some tips on how you did it?! :) Sounds promising.

I can't seem to get a better sensation going directly into lungs. I only get a decent throat hit when I build up as much as I possibly can into my mouth and then inhale it. True, on the direct drag I get a lot more vapor, but not nearly as much sensation. Currently I'm using a 4th gen 510 with the standard battery.

I'm curious how does that compare to an eGo with the cone off? That gives an extremely light drag as the four battery "holes" on the eGo are a few millimeters deeper than a standard 510 battery.

More of a fan of the tighter draw that eGo cone offers, pretty much the opposite of loosening up the draw. I think it does make direct lung inhaling a little more difficult, though I've become accustomed to it.

Always mouth inhaled cigarettes, and have been doing that with ecigs for the past year. Been trying out direct lung inhales as I've been reading about it on here too and it's pretty interesting. Definitely a different experience than just doing mouth inhales all day long.

Bryce,

No pictures available. I used a #60 drill bit and a pin vise to enlarge the two side holes in a 510 atomizer, then used the same #60 to enlarge the center hole in the plastic disc just above the threaded area on the atomizer.

Then, I enlarged the four slots on the battery connector using a jeweler's file. Done.

This works only on a manual setup, for automatic you're best off leaving it alone IMHO.

How in the world do you direct inhale?? I can't seem to "suck" and "inhale" at the same time. No matter what I do it goes into my mouth first.

You usually draw a mouthfull of vapor using suction generated by your mouth and tongue, and then inhale it into your lungs using the muscles in your diaphram. A direct inhale is when you draw the vapor directly into your lungs, like you're trying to breathe through the e-cig. You don't use your mouth and tongue to suck, you just inhale.

You're right, that kind of felt like I was writing porn... :D

I just found out about direct inhale the other day on here, and I can tell you after smoking for most of my life... I really felt like an idiot ( or a president) not knowing how to inhale! I had no idea there was more than one way of doing it. My normal inhale was: I'd inhale with my mouth closed over the cig and also inhale air through my nose, then swallow the smoke. Direct inhale is inhaling with the mouth open a little bit and not sucking in through my nose at all. Definately different! now I feel like I'm getting some nic! yeah!
