i just recieved a ego t kit with 900 mah 5 click safty feature. do i have to click... turn it on to charge it? never had this feature in an e-cig before, just wasent sure? thanks to all in advance! vape on!

I can't say for sure, but I imagine just like most any electronic device it can be charged while off.
Just make sure when you screw it into the USB charger it flashes 5 times (the ego button) and then the charger turns from green to red. You will be all set then. If your eGo does not flash try giving it the 5 clicks till it flashes and then screw in again.
On or off, batt should charge, but do not press/hold the button while charging, could damage batt or charger or be dangerous.
