I have trouble with getting burnt tastes off of my coils. I was advised to try new cotton style coil by kanger and innokin recommends that start at 8 watts for this resistance (1.8) yet I am still getting the horrible burnt taste?! I am reaching the end of my tether having tried many clearomizers etc! Any recommendations or explanations?? I have only had the coil a day. I have tried swapping the coil and it happens again. I am only firing it at 6.5/7 because I am scared of burning. I do prime the wick. I am really fed up of this always happening. Does anyone recommend a better atomizer? Thanks

What topper do you have? If it's an rda...are you making sure there are no hotspots?

I'm assuming it's a cheap plastic Kanger clearo. 
Haven't used their OCCs yet, but their recs for their silica dual coils is between 7 and 12 watts. I would imagine it would be slightly lower for the cotton ones?
The only things I can think of is either dry hits (from too hard a draw, or juice with too high a VG level), or juice that burns too easily.
Sadly, once you've burned a cotton coil it's next to impossible to get rid of the taste. Time to pitch it and get a new one.

I don't think its a kanger top, just a kanger coil. The shop said cotton better than silicon to prevent burning! He's been firing his on 10w no problem. The battery guide suggests to start at 8w ?? I have only been using 6.5.I'm assuming it's a cheap plastic Kanger clearo.

It sounds like you have burnt the wick. It will also transfer to the juice in the tank. I use the SOCC 1.8 coils at 7 watts. Make sure you prime the coils well and start a 6 watts and move up from there.
