My husband and I are beginners to the vape world. We are considering getting the Innokin Disrupter Innocell vaping Power System. Would this be good for a beginner? It seems simple enough. As far as tank goes, we were thinking about getting the Innokin iSub Apex.

Edit: After deciding the Apex might not be a good fit for myself, I've been reading reviews that the Aspire Nautilus might be a good choice for a mouth to lung user. Any thoughts or opinions on that?

I just got the Disrupter & think it would a fine choice. It will give you room to expand as it is sub-ohm capable. I have only used it a few days now & it replaced my Vamo2.

Look at the link/video from P Busardo above. He gives it a good review of it plus about any other mod you might be thinking of.

Don't know about the tank but I have the Innokin iSubG & think the apex is a new upgrade. No complaints whatsoever.
It may be somewhat advanced for a beginner mod but that only saves you in the long run from gradual purchasing...

Just know that it may come as a sub-ohm tank. That's the coil ohms less than 1.0 ohm. I didn't look it up & think the Apex comes with .5 ohm coils.

I ordered extra coils in 1.5 ohm too. You will need extra coils of your choice.

I have to admit I know nothing about sub-ohming but the mod & tank blows away the Vamo.

Hopefully someone else will chime in here to straighten me out & help you out.

Good luck & welcome to ECF.

It would be an excellent choice, I have several of them. The nice thing is you can dual use them, sub ohm or standard ranges above 1 ohm, up to 3 IIRC. The cells charge up reasonably fast and they are built very well. As for the Apex, it is too new to say how it will work but as with anything from Innokin, my bet is it will perform nicely.

Thanks for the help! That's basically what we thought, it may be a little advanced but I'd rather have a good set up upfront & learn the rest as we go along. We went ahead and order it all along with extra 0.5 ohm coils. I looked for the 1.5 ohm but couldn't find them on the site(I very well may have overlooked or not looked in the right spot) Hopefully they work fine for us. I think they ones in the pen we have are 1.8(I think the lettering is so tiny on it)

If they had them when I got my first real mod, I would have gotten one. I like the looks and the fact that when the battery dies, you aren't left with a paper weight

Yes, that's exactly what we wanted to avoid is a being left with a paper weight. I've read tons of good reviews about the built in batteries but just didn't like that idea. I'm usually home most of the time so I'll take the shorter battery life instead.

Its a solid device and thats coming from a Provari user.

I won one in a contest on the forums and gave an honest review on it here.

Its about halfway down the page, post 9828

You should consider spare batteries if you havent done so already because running it at sub ohm burns through them very quickly.

Innokin is a reputable and innovative brand in the vape world.

I don't trust the disrupter though; seems to be more marketing than engineering; first it was announced as a temperature controlled system, then it seemed to change; the innocell seems to be the main issue now, but sounds too proprietary for me.

As for the isub apex, I like the top intake airflow; a rebuildable coil head I'd consider essential nowadays; nowadays the rebuildable coil head option has already been done, so if a tank doesn't come with rebuildable coil heads as an option, I think it's just not worth it for the budget minded.

Not entirely true. They do have a TC Disrupter coming out to pair up with the Apex.

Thanks for the link to the review! I'll order an extra battery for him next week.

I suppose like most things trial and error are key. All else fails, if we don't like the distrupter becomes a back up lol sucks to waste money in that way but live and learn I suppose. My husband quit smoking cigs long ago and is basically doing it for the clouds. I on the other hand, haven't fully quit yet. Maybe I'll look into getting a different Innokin mod for myself. Thanks for being honest!

I started back vaping on the Disruptor about 3 weeks ago. I'm extremely happy with it.
Sometimes Sub-ohming is a bit too much for me, and I really like to vape with a 1.5 ohm coil.
The .05 is fun sometimes though and I do enjoy switching between them. I prefer the glass tanks vs plastic.

For myself I wanted the 1.5 ohm coils but couldn't find them for the Apex. Like I said a few posts above maybe I wasn't looking in the right spot or the particular website we ordered from was out of stock. I'm leaning more towards me not knowing what I was looking for haha.

I'm still learning all the basic things about the entire vape world. I've been trying to absorb as much information as I can and actually try to understand it lol.

You have to look at the way that you smoked. If you were a mouth to lung smoker (took smoke into your mouth and then sucked it into your lungs), I would not start with the iSub. It, or any other sub-ohm device, will pretty well force you to suck the smoke directly into your lungs. You would be a lot better off going with something that has a higher rated coil (1.2-1.5 ohm) that you could use at a lower wattage and vape it like you smoked. The Disrupter device is a good choice. I would look for a different head. Maybe something like the GS Air-M. Don't have one but a lot of people seem to like them and they are inexpensive.

Once I got the Disruptor I just got carried away, lol. I've been buying parts and mods ever since. I got the iSub tank. Then learned that overtime plastic can leach with certain juices, so I decided to get a glass tank. I watch a lot of YouTube reviews and was impressed with the kanger subtank mini, and got a couple.
That's where I found the 1.5 ohm coils. I just saw a review that Innokin does have 2.0 ohm coils, I haven't found them online either. I just put in another order on my favorite online store for replacement coils for the kanger subtank. Right now that is my favorite tank.
I did order the Apex and am looking forward to it. Maybe if I dropped my nic level to 3mg then the .05 coil would be good for all day.
I've been playing with building too. I'm just having a lot of fun with vaping and am kinda all over the place with it. :)

Thank you for the great advice! I am a mouth to lung smoker so that bit of information helps me a ton. My husband is use to smoking from a hookah, maybe the .5 coils will be a good fit for him? I've never smoked from a hookah so I have no idea how you inhale on one.

I made a big mistake of buying 18mg nic juice and I about fell over lol. I now have some 3mgs and a 9mg nic which are working much much better haha. I really considered the kanger subtank mini and it's still an option for me. My problem is I get to many options then start going crazy on which is best hahaha. My brain likes to over think things! I'll try my husbands new setup(distruper & apex) when it arrives and if I'm not feeling it, try the kanger subox with the 1.5coils.

The nice thing about the Disruptor is it handles whatever I've put on it, tanks from different companies, rdas. I've even built on it. I foresee it being an all around work horse for a good while. I like the built in battery. No extra cost on rechargeable batteries and a charger. It is nice to have 2 batteries though.
I did that too with the nicotine level, 18 mg and made myself sick for a couple of days. Part of why I got a Kanger subtank. I've vaped on and off since 2010. I stopped in 2013 and was using 18 mg, so it's what I started back up with. I didn't realize/know how much the sub ohm tank delivers!

Honestly I didn't really look for Innokin 2.0 ohm coils cause I didn't know they made them. I saw review for the Apex 4-5 days ago and the reviewer said they did. So I will find out. My comfort zone is a 1.4 ohm and 6mg.
The Apex is glass and top filling, which I'm really looking forward too. So if I find the 2.0, or a 1.5 ohm coils, I'm going to be very happy.
I like dripping too and am running a 0.5 build rda on my disruptor now. I've got some more wire coming and am going to get my builds to 1.0 ish.

I'm hoping my husband will like the distruper, he's pretty stoked about it. I really don't think he would have cared what I got him as long as it produces plenty of clouds haha. If you find the Innokin 2.0 coils let me know. I haven't the slightest on idea on the rda how I would even begin. Maybe 6 months from now I'll have some interest in that haha. For now I want to stick to pretty simple stuff that isn't going to hurt my brain.
