While there's not a lot to go by with the limited info innokin has released so far, at first blush it looks like they haven't been able to get their initially announced device (TC with kanthal, new connection system, Disruptor-style battery) market-ready fast enough, and are releasing a stop-gap mod so they can say they offer TC in their line-up.

According to the following post from their FP page, it seems like the "sensor" based TC device will be coming out in Q1 2016. That's the one that I'm really interested to try out.
Origin Vapes has the Innokin Cortex, in stock, for 74.99. It says TC with Ti, Ni and SS but doesn't mention kanthal or nichrome. The up/down buttons and display on the bottom are just not my idea of a good design, too prone to getting pushed and/or damaged. It sounded good on paper, but the real thing leaves me flat, just another mid-range TC box mod.
ss huh? the reviews ive seen for it didn't show an option for ss in temp mode. i'm gonna do some more digging.
Like I said before, Innokin is being a day late and a dollar short too often. They get one right, like the CF4, then have a bunch of blah stuff to follow and go with it. As an Innokin fan it is very frustrating.
I was excited to get the Cortex until I saw the reviews. I'm sure it would be fine for a beater mod on the go but it isn't ready for primetime like the SX350J, DNA200 and eVic TC Chips
