Innokin SVD or Halo Triton?

Hi fellow vapors,

i'm a looking to step up from my mini ecig. I've been looking at the Nemesis (mech mod) but I'm getting advice that it's to early for me to go mech mod. So I am debating between the SVD or the Halo Triton and looking for help and advice from you all on which one to get? Looking for great vapor and longer battery life.

Also, can anyone explain variable voltage and why it is better?

thanks all!

I quit smoking with a Halo Triton kit. I now have 2 of every standard Triton battery and 6 vv. I also have higher end mods- ProVari, ProVari Mini and ProVape-1. Still love the Tritons. The tanks are fantastic, if you like a hassle free warm vape, which I do. They are a lot less fiddly than ProTank2s. Haven't tried an SVD,so can't recommend it.

Variable voltage means you can adjust the power to match the resistance of the coil to the juice you are vaping to get the desired taste.

I would recommend the SVD, though I don't actually have mine yet.
PROS
-longer battery life (650mAh VS 2000-2900mAH)
-Quality replacement batteries for $8-$12
-VV/VW -variable voltage lets you adjust the "heat" for preference. You have more choices on atomizers like dual coil which doesn't work well on a fixed battery. With a fixed battery you need to get the right ohm atomizer to get the best performance. With VV you can just adjust the battery. VW (variable wattage) is basically the same thing (heat adjustment) it just adjusts the voltage automatically if you change heads to maintain the same "heat"

CONS
-bigger size/weight
-have to take the batteries out to charge them (but they do last a couple of days)
-Initial cost higher - ~$75 with 2 batteries(orbtronic - US), charger(fasttech), SVD(fasttech), no atomizer

I would recommend the Triton Kit first. Coming from a cig-alike, anything more powerful might be too much at first. First up is the size factor -- you have to be comfortable with a larger device. The Triton batteries (650 mAh - 1300 mAh) are still cigar sized. The mAh is the battery duration (650 = about 7-8 hours, 1300 = about 13-15 hours). These are ego style batteries with proprietary connections, 808 T2 style Triton Tanks.

Instead of an SVD (baton/nightstick sized), I would recommend the MVP2 -- Variable Voltage/Variable Wattage, more compact than an SVD, with a built-in 2600 mAh battery (about 2 1/2 days before needing to recharge; with the SVD, you would need to buy 18650 and/or 18350 batteries and a charger, and the batteries last about 700-2000 mAh). MVP2 comes with 510 and Ego threading -- so you have more options for a juice delivery device, such as the iClear30s, Kanger Protanks, Aspire Tanks, etc.

I started with a cig-alike, moved up to Halo Triton Kit, then an MVP and a k100 mech.

Thanks Stevegmu, you are exactly the type of person I was looking for! So you have a Provari and still recommend the Triton? Wow!

Would you recommend going with the vv or the higher capacity 1300mah? Also, what coils as the best to use with the vv Triton?

Thanks again for the advice!

I won't leave the house without the 6 Triton vvs a ProVari and the ProVape-1. All have their own purpose. I got the ProVaris to try out other delivery systems. Still love the Halo Triton tank. It is a warm vape with a great throat hit and great vapor production. I prefer the ProTank 2s for mellower juices- like the teas from Alice In Vapeland, which I use low ohm coils for and low voltage.

The variable voltage allow you to customize your vape. Some juices are better at more power, some less. I pretty much only vape Halo juices in the Triton tanks, and they are well suited for each other. I tried the higher resistance coils and the lower and have settled on the standard 2.2-2.4 ohm coils. I get the best range and longevity out of them.

Check out the Halo forum here-

Halo

It is very active for a reason- people love their Tritons. I honestly don't think there is a better starter kit out there than Halo's Triton. If I had gone straight to a mod with fiddly tanks which have a bit of a learning curve, I would still be smoking today. Get the Triton vv, learn juices and resistance, then play around with 'advanced' mods and delivery systems.

Am I missing something here...
The $65 kit appears to be fixed 650mAh batteries compared to a similar kit with 1000mAh batteries and Vivi Novas for $60
Their 900mAh adjustable batteries are $30 compared to a Vision spinner 1300mAh or genuine joye 1000mAh twist for $27
These prices are just checking MFS and not even shopping around.

Do the Triton batteries not even have a standard 510 connection? If so, this makes no sense. Most e-cig user like to try a variety of tanks.
Even if you could find an adapter, it would increase the length.

I checked two high reviews at the top of a google search. Both have links through shareasale which they get paid for.

I recommend you consider the Innokin iTaste MVP. It's available for just $50 in US. It's a box mod that is pocket-friendly, uses a built-in rechargeable battery that will last 2 - 3 days per charge, and can be used while it is recharging (pass thru). It will accept any ego or 510 thread juice attachment. These are extremely popular among both beginners and advanced vapors, and are a great cost/quality purchace. Innokin MVP iTaste Kit - AltSmoke

i had this same issue..we started with g6 mid september..less than a month later i was looking to upgrade..i struggled with whether or not to leave halo and enter this sea of endless options or stick with them for simplicity sake..we have a few local and local-ish b&m so we have the luxury of running up the road..i would recommend going to a local shop if possible to check things out in person..especially on a weekend..people will be hanging out with different devices and everyone we encountered in any of the shops hanging out were more than happy to talk about what they have and why..

the thing that kept me from staying with halo was the connection..you can't just pop a tank or clearo on it from anywhere..you HAVE to buy their stuff, then pay for and wait for shipping..i would say get something with the common connections so that you have more options to try out new tanks, clearos, etc..then when you upgrade again everything will be interchangeable..

Yes, you are. I'm tired of explaining to the FastTech crowd about how the Triton batteries are not the same as standard ego style batteries. They last longer and charge faster.

You may want to check the SpinFuel and Smoken Joey reviews.

Who said anything about fasttech?

Joyetech
650 mAh
Battery life: ~300 charging cycle
Thread: 510 | eGo -the standard that fits a wide range of brands
Charging time: ~2.5 hours
[charger] Output: DC 4.2V 420mA

Triton
650 mAh
Battery Lifespan 300 cycles
Battery Thread Silver WUT?, an odd thread that limits choices to halo and a few hit and miss others
Charging time: unable to find info on halo's site
[charger]Output Current 420 mA

You say that they are different from standard ego as if it were a good thing.
I saw a thread yesterday about someone having troubles getting something to fit his battery. He was quite frustrated because he got an adapter but it still wouldn't work. I see what the deal was now

Yea, Still not "getting it"

Joeytech aren't FastTech specials?

You may want to ask owners, rather than comparing specs on paper. There is a difference.

Not sure why anyone would want to use a tank other than a Triton tank on a Triton. It would look ridiculous and be top heavy.

I have 2 650mAh Halo Batterys and 4 tanks, they're awesome. Light and small, nice looking (colors), easy to fill, fully charges in 25-35 minutes (awesome), the cons are the compatibility with other tanks, but you can get a adapter for it.
Now Im thinking to get a MOD or VV Twist Battery but I dont know wich to buy, Im between MVP2.0,ProVari Mini, VTR on MOD types or VV 3.0, EVOD VV Twist, Halo Twist.

Help??? Wich are the best option for step up from regular Ego Halo Triton Kit??????? A MOD or as twist Battery??

Yea, wouldn't want to compare specs when perception is so malleable
obvious shilling in this thread is obvious

I just got my triton, I like it, leaps better than the cig a like ones I tried
Juices taste amazing, I got the variety sample pack.
When doing my research before my purchase, the triton is the only one that had ZERO negative reviews
Others had leak issues, or some other issues
I did not want some huge itaste monster to start my vaping experience.
The triton is nice size, and the starter kit is beautiful, it is easy to fill, I am a complete noob and had no problem.
The batteries are nice, charge in about an hr, but last longer than most 650 mahs
Plus I liked the whole made in the USA thing.

Later down the road I may want something crazy with light saber sound mods and a battery that lasts 9000 hrs, but I wanted to keep it simple and easy for my start to vaping
The triton was an extremely easy upgrade from the cig a like ones.

Let me guess, a Vamo beats a ProVari, right?

I don't have any affiliation with Halo. Their equipment works and works well. You may want to check out the SpinFuel and Smoken Joey reviews. Pretty sure they aren't affiliated with Halo, either.
