Alright all, I'm going to attempt my first build. I've been reading and watching videos and i have all the tools to do it. What I'm looking for is what you would do, now that you have practiced and learned tricks, to build a solid coil.

I'm using a Plume Veil on top of a Cloupor 30w Mini. Efest 18650 3.7v 2500mah battery. I'm not set on "sub-ohming" or anything in particular. Really just want good flavor with decent vapor production.

Could you include what type of wire, awg, single/dual, twisted, wicking material, etc. Just trying to see what preferences are out there and why.

There are lots of good apps on android. Lots of folks use Steam Engine.

Here is what I am still using. Guess I'm old school.

Good luck to you. Hope this helped some. Others will come along and help you I am sure. That is what is so special about ecf.

What are you currently building in the PlumeVeil? What wires do you have right now? I can try and help on what you currently have.

Also on the PlumeVeil that thing is a cloud monster wide open. I still get decent flavors on my builds through it. But with most air ways closed off.

For flavor I use different attys.

I currently have a parallel 28 ga wrapped 6 times on a 3/32 drill bit. Rayon or cotton wick in the PlumeVeil.

My ADV is around .28-.30 ohms. I like the dense warm vape that I get and is packed with flavors.

You can check my build out and use different ga wires. This is when I was on a cloud binge. But now flavor binge

Currently it's a single coil build running .63ohm. I got it a week ago and my guy in the shop built it then. Someone else on another thread said it sounds like 24awg on 2.3mm bit. 8 wraps. It has pretty good flavor and good vapor. I have it practically completely closed except the hole directly in front of the coil.

I am leaning toward 26-28awg and will most likely do a single coil to be safe this first time. I work in AC and am very used to working with small wire and tools so i will most likely be trying duals or parallels soon.

IYO, is 26-28awg single going to be good for a good flavor? How many wraps would you do and what ohm would you try for?

Also, i never smoked so a real warm vape isn't a top priority. I actually don't like drawing on mine more than a couple times in a row without letting the coil cool down.

With 28ga and you are using a regulated mod, you can do 10 wraps and it will heat up quickly. I prefer 24ga.

Love that build btw! Great attention to detail with your coil bends. I think that gets overlooked a lot in many things and can greatly up the overall outcome of whatever you're building/working on. And it's so clean on top of your StingRay.

You have me itchin to do a dual now!

Thanks. It's all about trying out different builds that you find you like. I would try 24, 28, single, dual, twisted, till you find that comfort zone.
You should have a ohm limit on that device you are running. It's so easy on the PlumVeil to change out coils. 28ga single coil can heat up real fast at 18-20Watts.

Like I mentioned on the other post, my ADV is around .20-.30, that's including my tanks. I run 24ga in Kayfuns, Taifuns, and Erlkonigin.

I loved the PlumeVeil when I got it, got more build pics if you want to see them. ;)

I don't believe ANYONE can tell you what to build. My best build may and likely is the worst build for many many people. That said I would start at where you are currently vaping and spread out from there. I started on a protank. Found I liked the 1.8-2.0 ohm range on factory coil. started building my own coils for the PT3, Found I didn't like the dual coil at all. Started building my PT3 as a vertacle coil unit at 1.8-2 ohms. Decided I needed more, the PT3 and EGO1100mha weren't enough. Mainly it was OK with FRESH battery 4.2v, down to about 3.7 volts. But since my batts spent most of their time BELOW 3.7, problem... So I got a BRASS Mech Mod, a 5-12 watt kick and a Kayfun. Now I still build the Kayfun to the same 1.8-2ohms, BUT, I run it at 8-10watts. AND with the kick maintaining the wattage at a relativly fixed rate, I get the same hit every time from fresh batt to dead batt. All in a device that does not snap in half if I sit down with it in my pocket or drop it farther than 12". My whole set-up cost about $60. Yes, it is made up of all clones, except for the batteries. Sorry but Authentic of my kit would have cost 10X more. I may not be smart, but I am also not stupid.

Trust me, I'm not looking to just go with what one person says i should build. I probably worded what i am looking for a little different thani should have but I'm just looking to see what people would do if they did a beginner coil again now that they know how to build coils. And their reason why they would do it that way. Maybe it's a strange concept and I'm a little in left field buti like understanding what other people like having and have had good results from. Hopefully that makes sense to anyone reading.

Some people ask me what i would do differently to my car now that ive built and torn apart and rebuilt over and over learning new things. And there's plenty i would do different knowing what i do now. And there's reasons behind it. Mine probably won't be the same reasons or even the same outcome as the guy asking me but if my person experience can help him make a sound and informed decision then i think i did my job.
