I had a new vaper ask me about getting headaches when vaping. I came here to find some info to send him but I ran into a slight problem. He's heard all the negative stuff about vaping and he's wary about it. When I searched this forum for headache threads I noticed that most of them were closed with absolutely no explanation. I cannot send him these threads because he already believes that vaping may be hazardous and certain things get "swept under the rug" when asked. Can anyone enlighten me on why these threads are being closed for seemingly no reason? I do not see any stickys that lay out any special rules for this sub-forum.

A few examples are:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/health-safety-e-smoking/256294-headaches-flavours.html
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/health-safety-e-smoking/115252-headaches.html

Maybe it is because they are old? I would just like to know what to tell him if he asks.

Thank you!

The biggest problem with new apv users is dehydration because of the pg. You can get a massive headache if you dehydrate enough. The trick for new users is to drink a LOT of water for the first 3 weeks or so and lay off caffeine for a while (since that is a natural diuretic)
I've helped 14 people quit smoking and start vaping and they are all doing great.
As for his fears try looking up the studies that have been done and linking them to him to read.

Headaches themself are caused by so many different things including worry about something causing a headache that there's really no use in trying to track down a source. Unfortunately you can't really disregard anything as a source of headaches however since they are so common/numerous (if you ever read side effects on drugs nearly every single one lists headaches just in case). Link below might help with showing it's not likely to be a problem.

If he's that worried about vaping, that alone can cause a stress headache. I'm not prone to those but instead, thanks to family genetics, get gastric drip instead with stress and haven't had it vaping. However, high doses of nic can constrict blood vessels and that can happen no matter what the souce of the nic is... like cigaarettes or high nic foods. If that is the cause, a blood pressure cuff reading before and after vaping should tell the story. In my own case, vaping has improved my blood pressure readings but, then, I was a two-packs-a-day smoker. If the nic turns out to be the problem, I suggest cutting the juices nic level down using 70%VG/30%DW until the "right" nic level is found.
