I know bloody sugar levels go out of whack when you quit smoking cold turkey - (well, I've never quit cold turkey before personally) but I'm two months into vaping fulltime and suddenly I'm going crazy here for chocolate or ANYTHING sweet and it seems to be coinciding with dropping my nic levels.
I would rather stay where I am at 6 mg because my sore tongue issues have gone away (thank goodness!) and to be perfectly honest I'm really not craving for the nicotine.
But....I would just do ANYTHING for chocolate and if I can't find any I'll eat just about anything sweet that I can dig up in the pantry.
The other day in desperation I stood eating spoonfuls of condensed milk out of the can feeling totally out of control!
I feel like a total sugar junkie which is HIGHLY unlike me because usually I prefer salty things.
I don't know how to deal with this because it's like no other craving I've ever experienced, (not even like with PMS!) and I seem to have absolutely ZERO willpower if anything sweet is in the house....or if I'm out and see chocolate.
I just hope and pray that this will just be something that will pass or else I'm going to end up gaining a LOT of weight!
If the summer fruits were in season here I'd try to eat fruit to curb the craving for sweet things but apples and oranges just don't do it for me. I need mangoes!

Has anyone else been through this when dropping nic levels? I just want to be reassured that it will go away with time, lol!

When I started vaping, one of my first juices I vaped was caramel cream. I just couldn't get enough! I bought the bulls eye caramel creams the whole time I vaped that juice. I think I've gotten past that intense of cravings. I have upped my nic since then. I started off too low as one of my noob mistakes.

cold & clammy ~ need some candy (low blood sugar)

hot & dry~ sugar is high (high blood sugar)

How old are you? Any chance of pregnancy?
I was going to ask about the chance of pregnancy as well. Also remember that chocolate is full of antioxidants and your body may be 'craving' something to eliminate the toxins from smoking. Drink plenty of water.

Thanks! No chance of pregnancy and I'm 43.
All my life I've tended to go dizzy/shaky and feel sick if I don't eat but nothing has ever shown up on tests.
I do see a correlation though between my cravings and times when I get a bit slack and don't make myself lunch.
I really just have to get rid of sweet things in the house and eat properly!
The funny thing is this actually all started a while back - before I started vaping. I used to drink alcohol - more than I should have. Not a heck of a lot, compared to some - 2 glasses of wine but EVERY night, for many years. Ended up with a fatty liver.
Scared the heck out of me so I quit drinking completely and it's been since then that my body has craved sugar SO much. (I was always a salty craving kind of person)
Now that I've quit smoking I think again it's done something to the way my body metabolizes sugar.
But like I said, every fasting blood glucose test I've ever taken seems to be within the normal limit, so who knows.
