Anybody have issues with insomnia even when using 0 Nic juice? I stick to a Max VG blend, usually 95 or higher. I was using 3 milligrams during the day, putting it down for 4 or 5 hours before bed and still not being able to sleep. Then I attempted 0 Nic juice all day, with smoking a few analogs, to make sure it wasn't withdrawal, with the same problems. It seems a lot of senior members have had this problem months or even years into vaping, and I'm wondering if any of you had discovered that it may be a change in liquid, or found a solution to this problem. It doesn't appear to be withdrawal for me nor does it appear to be nicotine acting as a stimulant. I'm really hoping to find an answer because I honestly believe I can use this to get me off the stinky sticks. But I can't handle this insomnia.

Hm... Ive never heard of this problem before.. at least when vaping 0mg. I honestly dont have a true answer for you but I'm super curious as to what others have to say. If you dont get a helpful answer here, try putting it up in the Ask the Vets section and maybe someone there will be of service!

Just my personal experience...

Back when I was a smoker, I wouldn't be able to fall asleep at times if I didn't have a cigarette. Occassionally I'd awake in the middle of the night, in need of a cigarette, or I wouldn't be able to fall back asleep. I'm embarrassed to confess that I've driven to the local convenience store at 2 am to buy a pack of cigarettes in order to fall back asleep for the night.

It's been almost 4 years (next month) since I quit smoking. I still awake at times to vape, even with a nicotine strength of only 3 mg.

Addiction is a terrible thing. I truly believe that by vaping that I have reduced my health risks. Nicotine has both a stimulant and a depressant effect, and how it affects us individually can vary greatly.

I needed a cigarette to fall asleep. That's how accustomed I had become to having regular doses of Nicotine. It's a behavior thing, and your behavior is now probably messed up.
There is also the question of how much you smoked and how much vaping nicotine yield you are getting. Are you off the tobacco? Unless you are whacking back the 3mg at super high power, maybe you are weaning yourself off and this is your body fighting the process?
I'd need to vape 3mg at about 80-100 watts to even stand a chance of getting the right level of Nicotine. If I didn't get it, I'd be awake at nights too. :)

I suspect the deep breathing might have something to do with the insomnia.

or maybe you are vaping coffee flavor!

I was smoking about a pack of American Spirits blue everyday. And I've been having a couple of cigarettes in the evening especially before bed, after putting the Vape down, so I'm pretty confident its, not withdrawal. I'm at about 14 watts, with the 3 milligram, so it definitely doesn't seem like I should be overdoing it. Especially after giving myself a break of four or five hours before going to bed.

I'm using a cool fire 4, with a nautilus Aspire mini tank. Its working pretty well for me. Tried using the analogs and vaping 0 Nic, then just sticking to 3 milligram, insomnia in both cases.
When I quit it took me 2.4% to wean myself off my pack a day Marlboro Red habit. Like others have said maybe not enough nicotine? Also what kind of gear are you using? Good Luck and keep trying to join the ranks of former smokers!

So you are still smoking. That leads me to believe IT IS WITHDRAWAL symptoms causing your insomnia. Those couple of cigarettes you have before bedtime are messing with your sleep cycle. Once you put them away completely I'm confident your insomnia will pretty much go away or at the least improve. We're addicted to more than just the nicotine in cigarettes; its also the hundreds of other chemicals found in cig smoke. My :2c:

When I went cold turkey it was rough and I think it is the lack of nicotine also like Baditude is saying. Over a year and a half for me and I am still trying to wean my self off the nicotine! Granted I was using Cig-A-Likes at 1.8% to 2.4% When I switched to a MOD I lowered my nic to .6% and had to up again to 1.2% and slowly I am weaning myself off by using the .6% and 1.2% 50/50 for an estimated 9% or so. Your experience may be totally different so go with what you feel is best for you. Good Luck!

Thanks I appreciate the replies. I hope I can get this figured out. I just can't figure out why when im smoking cigarettes as usual during the day and vaping 0 nic juice, why I would have insomnia. It's no change in nicotine.
I think the type of gear you use, plus the amount and kind of cigarettes you smoke(d) plays an important part in how much nicotine you need to wean yourself off it. Some even mention in other threads about the WTA factor.

How much did you smoke? Do the math try and figure out what you were getting or get from the Killer Sticks and compare what you estimate you are taking in now. I also suggest getting down and dirty and quit the smokes altogether. Like the TV commercial says a cigarette has 7,000 chemicals maybe it isn't just the nicotine alone you need wean off? Only my :2c::2c: cents buddy and Good Luck!

I have been on a mild sleeping pill for 2 1/2 years since I started vaping. Never had a problem sleeping when I was a smoker. But sure could not sleep after I started vaping. I have tried to stop the sleeping pills but when I do I lay awake at night. That is the only medication I take. I also lost my appeal to coffee. Used to drink a 12 cup pot in the morning plus a couple through the day. Now I drink one cup in the morning when I wake up. CHEERS!

Thanks your right, that's my plan.
I'm trying a different 0 Nic juice today and if it doesn't give me any trouble, I'm just going to go without the ciggies.......

At my age I wake up to pee and wander the house every couple of hours...so I may not be an authority on this.

I found I had some sleeplessness when I started vaping, but that was nearly 4 years ago, way before all of this subohm cloud chasing hardware existed. Then cartos with high nic liquid were all the rage. I did have to cut back on the nic.

I also believe that my improved breathing gave me more energy which interfered with my sleep cycles. I just wasn't as tired at night.

Oh, and we just had a time change...so there's that...
