Got my Joye 510 on Saturday and tried it for the first time yesterday. It came with pre-filled carts of 18mg Marlboro flavored.

I have been smoking analogs for about 20 years at a rate of a pack and a half a day. I notice that if I vape with my new 510 (about three of four long slow drags) I actually get an instant buzz from the nic. I do not notice the same with regular cigarettes. I am thinking the 18mg may be a bit strong for me and am waiting for the 12mg I ordered to come in.

For a lot of folks the buzz may be a good thing, but not for me. If I am not getting the same buzz with analogs then I don't want to become dependent on the higher dose of nic and be worse off than I started.

Anybody else have similar experience?

I think its juice related, I've noticed a certain head rush effect from Dekang juice, which is what is inside pre-filled cartridges a lot of the time. I'm guessing its not the nic since I don't get the same head rush from all the juice I've tried, only certain juice.

Switch to organic juice if possible, might be better in this regard.

I noticed a similar effect when I first got my eGo. But only for the first few hits. I chalk it up to the novelty "wearing off." Those Marl carts tasted nasty so I immediately started with flavored juice. A few days later, I figured the 12mg juice I bought wasn't getting the job done and used another of the Marl carts while waiting on higher nic juice. The second time it just tasted gross and there was no rush.

I figure I'll use the remaining Marl carts if I just get desperate or eventually clean them out and refill with something more tasty.

It affects people different you might find 8mg is your sweet spot if 18 is giving you a buzz. I had to up to 36mg to quit smoking. But after a month i went to 30mg and now in the last 3 days i dropped to 24mg for a day then next day i went to 18mg. I might even make my next batch at 12 mg. I think once your off the cigarettes for awhile and your not getting all those added chemicals the nicotine is pretty easy to drop down in strength. At least from my personal experience it is working that way.

It seems to affect each of us differently. I started vaping at 18mg, then cut it right down to 6mg for a couple of weeks. Later on, I went back up to 12mg, then eventually 18mg, and that seems to be perfect for me now.

One bit of advice I picked up on this forum is to vape most of the time at a fairly low level, but occasionally use a higher nicotine juice to give you a hit.

The great thing about PV is your control over your personal nicotine intake - unlike gums or patches or other things that don't work you can vary your amount from moment to moment if you so choose. A buzz usually means youre a little too high on the mg per ml so just switch juices next vape - use a lower one - heck use ZERO if you want and see how you go. For some people the nic is the least of their addictions - they just want the hand/mouth/inhale/exhale + vapor deal and drop nic without an issue. Other people actually want some nic but not enough to make them ill so they vape a lot of lower juice and hit the high stuff now n again to curb cravings - others vape not often at all but use high or very high nic; they are the people that probably 'mimic' cigarette smoking the most.
Experiment - see what suits YOU best and go with that. :)

Nic levels definitely differ from person to person, and don't seem to correlate to analog habbits. I was a 2-2.5 pack a day marlboro smoker for 12 years, and I thought for sure I'd need 24mg to quit analogs. 24mg was *way* too much for me though, and I found my best success using an 11mg in my carts, and dripping 1-2 drops of 18 or 24mg just when I felt like I really needed an analog.

I'd say whatever you do, experiment. I am infinitely glad I decided to order a bottle of 11mg with my kit, or I would have been stuck smoking analogs until another order could ship.
