Where does the buzz go?

So one of the things I really enjoy about vaping is getting that good buzz, the kind I used to get after smoking an analog when I hadn't for a day or two.

I'm about four months in, and I've sort of established a habit of buying about six flavors at a time, a week before needing them, and finishing up the prior batch before cleaning and switching over to the new stuff (usually about 3-4 weeks per cycle). After a few rounds of this, I'm noticing a pattern of getting that nice buzz right when I start a new round of juices, but after a few weeks it dies off. This is despite changing heads in the midst of going through that same round of juices. Fresher flavor with the new heads, but the buzz is nowhere like it was when I started a new juice.

Is there a chance that the nicotine is losing its potency or evaporating off or something?

Nicotine does lose it's potency in sunlight as well as if the cap and nipple top are off. I would suggest trying to store your juices in a cooler temperature area where it's not in the sunlight if that helps.

What's your dosage that you're smoking right now with your juices?

I'm vaping 18mg

I keep all my juices in a zippered hardshell camera case, pretty light proof I think. I also keep my toppers in a zippered hardshell case like they sell for vape gear (about 2" wide and 5-6" long). Those both live in my laptop bag which is always with me so aside from a walk to the car they are kept at room temp most of the time. And right now the winter temps have kept things pretty darn cool.

Oh, and I shake vigorously every time i fill.

So the caps-off steeping recommendation I see here all the time, is that actually a no-no then?

Also, absorption of nicotine from an e-cigarette is somewhat different from a regular cigarette.

With e-cigarettes, the nicotine globules are absorbed more slowly via your oral tissues. With an analog, the buzz is instant because the nicotine goes directly to your bloodstream (and thence to your brain) via the alveoli in your lungs.

I've found that vaping, with regard to nicotine absorption, is more akin to puffing on a pipe or cigar than it is to smoking analogs.

Fro online : You get the head rush because cigarette smoke displaces the amount of oxygen into your lungs, and therefore your blood. The term for what you are experiencing is hypoxia- albeit a mild form. Hypoxia is a shortage of oxygen to the brain, which causes the head rush and occasionally dizziness.

Try a mech and dripper, tons of nic every hit :)

Good point, Sthur. That could be part of the situation, too.

Yes and no. That's if you're taking the nipple cap top off anything over 12 hours it's believed that the nicotine level will start evaporating.
