For those of you who have not already seen it check out this thread : http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ig-3-words-have-never-been-worth-so-much.html
A disclaimer of sorts:
Even though this product was an overly generous free prize from Shining Wit and Intellicig, as a result of participating in a fun little forum game, anything that follows is still my honest opinion. I would not want to get duped into or talked out of buying something based on the untrue opinion of another and therefore wouldn't take the time to write something I didn't believe to be true that would lead to either of those two things happening to others.
Okay so......
Upon receiving and opening my package I found the packaging of the unit, with all of its instructions, safety cards, and warning labels, to be a nice professional touch.
I was very impressed with the appearance of the EVOs. The white EVO with its orange led and brown cart mimics a real cig very well. I don't really like the brown cart but that is just a matter of personal preference. The black EVO with its blue led is the same style as one of my previous devices and is a look I like. The silver EVO with its orange led has a very sleek look to it. The ability to mix and match the 3 battery and atomizer colors along with the black carts is a definite plus because any combination looks great. The branding on the EVOs, while noticeable, is definitely subtle enough as to not be gaudy.
Picking up and putting together the pieces I found that this is very close to the size of a real cig, a definite plus in my opinion.
I was kind of worried about the carts for the EVOs being that it is an m4 style e-cig and I had previously used an 803 which uses the m4 carts and was not at all impressed with them. However when I opened up the carts in my package I found that they have a larger interior cart. This is a definite advantage and as I soon found out is much easier to refill and easier to vape until dry without having to top off after every 4 or 5 drags the way I needed to with the 803. I get about 2 - 3 hours of use out of a full cart before needing to refill and when I do refill there is a very small amount of dampness to the filler material but no liquid left in the cart itself.
Due to having gotten used to the 7 - 10 second cut-off time on my previous devices, I found the 5 second cut-off to be a very annoying feature of the EVO when first starting out. While I do understand Intellicigs reasons for implementing it I still cursed it more than a few times during the first day of use. I soon realized that, if I "forgot" everything I had taught myself over the previous few weeks about how you have to use an e-cig differently than a real cig, the 5 second cut-off is not an issue at all.
Battery life seems comparable to any of the other devices that I have used so far, lasting me about 2 - 3 hours of use before needing to be recharged. However, with the size of the EVO batteries being smaller and the fact that they only take about 30 minutes to recharge compared to the 2 - 3 hours the others do, this is a definite step up from my other devices.
For the first couple of days I tried to make myself use the EVOs exclusively so I could see how they worked for me. The pre-filled 20mg ECOpure Regular cartridges that I received with my EVOs seemed at first to have little throat hit and taste to them. I also tried refilling some of the cartridges with the 20mg ECOpure Rich liquid I had received and got the same results. Normally I use 24mg liquids though, and have never gotten enough of a throat hit for my preferences from any other liquids of a lower mg either, so I wasn't surprised by the lack of throat hit for me. After the first few days of using the EVOs almost exclusively, now and then taking a hit or two off of another device to get the TH I needed, I started to find that I was getting more flavor from both of the ECOpure liquids than I first had. The Regular definitely has a nice smooth clean taste to it and the Rich has a... well the best way to describe it would be with a quote from another forum member whose description I found sums it up pretty well.
I had only been "vaping" for 3 weeks before receiving these supplies. I firmly believe the reason I didn't get these tastes from the ECOpure liquids right from the beginning is that my taste buds were still getting cleaned up after 20 years of smoking damage.
So after about a week of using the EVOs and ECOpure liquid I was going to write a review here. Basically it would have covered what I have said above and would have concluded with my opinion being that the EVOs are a very good device and the ECOpure was a really nice liquid to use and that both would be getting added into my rotation of devices and liquids.
However............
I was about to start that review and then decided that I wanted to try the ECOpure on different devices as well as try different liquids on the EVOs.
First thing I decided to do was use the EVOs with other liquids at the 24mg level I am used to. Using these liquids enabled me to get the throat hit I needed and brought out a noticeable difference in the taste of the liquids. While the liquids I was using had always tasted good even before using the EVOs they seemed to taste even better on them. Of course that could possibly be attributed to my taste buds having another week of "cleansing" since quitting smoking.
I then decided to try the ECOpure on my devices that use cartomizers. Wow... absolutely horrendous! That was my first reaction and was a horrible surprise. I have used quite a few liquids between the pre-filled cartomizer liquids and the liquids I had been using to refill the cartomizers and enjoyed plenty of them. I did realize that some other liquids taste different for the first few drags in a cartomizer though and decided to suffer through for a bit to see if the taste got better. It didn't and I couldn't believe it since I liked the ECOpure so much on the EVOs. Well what I realized over the next couple of days, as I started using my cartomizer units a little more, was that any of the liquids that I have that have a "lighter" taste to them now taste horrible to me in a cartomizer. The ones with a "heavier" flavor to them are still okay in the cartomizers but do have a clearer and cleaner taste to them on the EVOs than in the cartomizers. So now certain liquids I will never be able to use in a cartomizer again. And now the title of my thread should make a little more sense
(Note: I know a lot of people, who have been "vaping" longer than I, have recently switched to cartomizers and say they have a better flavor but taste is a matter of personal preference and that is a debate for another thread so please make sure it is
)
So in the end, while I'm not willing to say that EVOs and ECOpure will be the only device I will ever use, Intellicig products have definitely become my primary use device and regular flavored liquids.
Now I just need to find all of the US based suppliers of Intellicig products that are out there. Hopefully someone (hint hint John
) will post a list of them in my other thread that I referenced at the beginning of this post.

Ecopure Rich is a very understated flavor that's there, but doesn't get in the way, if that makes any sense. Think of a lightly toasted marshmallow, just toasted enough to where it forms a caramelized "skin" that's a light golden brown. Take the flavor of that and cut the sweetness down to about 1/4th, add in fantastic vapor production and enough of a throat hit to know it's there, and you've got Ecopure Rich.
