Ok, will wait to see what you have. I am thinking it might be a very very useful thing. I have battery chargers plugged in all over the place. It would give me a wonderful freedom while I am away over Christmas too. I am near a B&Q tomorrow morning. What would I actually look/ask for? It is just called a NiMH charger?????????

OK the B7Q one looks like this

Duracell USB Device Charger+4xAA CEF23

It is bigger than it looks in the photo. Basically the unit has a removable mains plug, you plug the unit into the mains to recharge the NiMH batteries, then the plug is removed and you have a portable USB power supply that can be used with the EVO usb charger. It is big and the batteries it comes with are not the most powerful but you can buy it at B&Q

The other option that I have not tried but is much neater is

Z146 1800ma USB rechargable Battery Power Brick on eBay, also Universal, Batteries, Laptop Accessories, Computing (end time 01-Jan-09 11:23:53 GMT)

I've ordered a couple but not here yet.

The best is the home made unit, but I would say that wouldn't I?

Ok, have decided...I have been using the evo for most of yesterday and today, apart from a few vapes with my penstyle (where the att died on me) and the 901. It IS getting quieter (or I don't care so much). My EVOlution is my best ecig. I have fallen in love with it. I probably have been using it almost constantly all day and have had to change/top off the carts quite a bit because of that, but I LOVE MY EVO! Thanks to Badseed and Pete for their thoughts about it, that convinced me to give it a try.
The 15% Aussie red has nothing to do with it!

Couple of pics of the home made version. As you can see the unit fits nicely into a carry case.

I have no chance to produce something like that Pete. Looks very nice though. I am a girl and don't know any more about electrics, than putting a plug into a socket makes the lights go on. :)

It's really not that clever. The battery box is standard, as is the USB charger. It's simply a matter of cutting the USB plug off and connecting directly to the box. The USB power brick on eBay has got promise, but until I get my hands on one I don't know if it will provide enough oomph to charge the batteries up.

PS girls tend to be better at soldering as they have better hand/eye coordination. That's why when we actually made things in this country, the actual people that did the work were mainly female.

I do a traditionally male job, but not something like this. I will check out b&q in the morning. Can't wait actually. I bought an underwater camera the other day off ebay and can u believe, it didn't come with a bloody charger??? Came with a usb cable and only God knows if it charges the thing, but for 80 quid, you would think it had a method to charge it. I am off to the maldives in a few days and I am furious that I have a potentially useless underwater camera for that money!

You'll find them hidden at B&Q next to the ordinary batteries, I think you can probably get it cheaper elsewhere but B&Q have them sitting on the shelf It is a good solution, it's just big! Yes I do have one it it inspired me to make the smaller one. The actual batteries in the unit are not the most powerful, but they do the job. You can replace them with these
7dayshop.com - Online Store
which are the dogs gonads of NiMH batteries.

Like the idea of portable charger! this is a nice looking one but bit expensive!(gadget head as usual!)

Rechargeable power pack Power2Go from philips! (can`t post url as not enough posts) costs £30 from play dot com or direct from philips same price!

That look s quite good, certainly looks smaller than the Duracell one. It is a bit pricey though.

Sorry for any delay in replying to emails and posts but I have been incredibly busy trying to get orders out - I should have some Genie batteries installed!
Suzi, yes the vapourisers run themselves in over a couple of weeks and quieten down nicely without losing their cooking ability. Thanks for the review Scott, it's reassuring to know that our efforts are not in vain and if it can get approval on here then it must be okay. Tribal, whereabouts are you located? I'm hoping you get your order tomorrow. We have had a couple of delayed deliveries last week but it was the Royal Mail's fault not ours. I'll be posting tomorrow and then having a rest, probably until next Monday, the 29th, so if you need owt get it ordered tonight! US vapers will be pleased to know that we are in the final stages of setting up US distributors and indeed the first one should be taking delivery of stock this week in the New York area - USB kits with extra batteries, yes I listen!;-) I've emailed the dealer so that his contact details can be published on here either by myself or him.
Cheers for now.
John.

John, I have had the evo since last Wednesday. I really wasn't sure about it at first, but I really love it now. It is great. I don't seem to be constantly charging batteries and this is because I am not really using my other ecigs since I received it and with the EVOlution, the batteries last for hours. At the moment, I have eight carts all lined up soaking liquid. They are very good too. It has quietened down somewhat now and isn't really any noisier than the 901. When I come back from hols and if it performs as I suspect and hope it will, I will be ordering more supplies from you, especially as the other stuff dies off. Thanks again, Suzi
