Sorry for the double post, but Scott - did you find the older Evo USB charger wasn't compatible with the black mighty atoms?? When I put one in it just flashed 3 times and after an hour hadn't charged at all (I think the pre-charge didn't last all that long, I haven't vaped that much today!).

Conversely, my older Evo batteries are fine with the new charger.

They look identical to me!

im not sure if i have an older version or new version as i recieved it in a order from them about 6 weeks ago. mine is short in length and has a silver connector on the end.........is that the same as yours? it works fine with both old and new style batteries.

any doubts mate, give john a email:-

Dear igetcha, great review tho watch out! The penstyle kicks its ... for throat hit as does narrow bridge 901 atomiser, its the batteries and size that make the EVO great! I wish they could make evo batteries fit penstyle and 901 atomisers.

hhhmmmmmmm, well if i ever decide to vape something that resembles a broom handle then i may invest in a pen style! for me to enjoy vaping i need something that resembles a real cigarette as its cigarette smoking that i enjoy but am trying to quit.

i have a narrow bridge 901. i got it out of its box one day and it started giving it the biggun, thinking it was the daddy. my EVO took offence, ripped of its 901 cartridge and then pooped down its 901 atomiser before walking away in triumph to the tune of "eye of the tiger" rocky theme music. lol

in other words, i prefer the vapour and throat hit of the EVO to that of my 901.

i cant honestly comment on a pen style as i have never tried one. i would also not pay money for one simply because of the way they look but if any suppliers etc wanna send me one to try i will gladly give it a very honest video review........who knows, i may even convert!

It's OK, I think I figured it out. Essentially the two are identical - short black lead and silver connector as you described. I just switched back and suspect the problem was the older one had overheated somehow, as it has been connected to my laptop continuously for some time! Now it's cooled down and is behaving correctly with the black mighty atom :thumb:

ETA just trialled the black Evo outside walking around town. It does the job nicely, dunno if it's the new atomiser but I couldn't get the old Evo to work outside to my satisfaction! Probably 'cos it required a longer draw, which I was ashamed to do in public!

Ta! I've noticed the chargers do get hot while in use, maybe I'd just taken off a white battery, can't remember!

Well, two days in with the black evo, and I LOVE it. I'm definitely getting an easier draw with the new bigger-fill carts. The size is also more pocket-friendly for those sneak-to-the-loos-at-work vapes ;) Battery life is a bit shorter but still good, lasted me the work day no bother.

Also noticed it's a bit quieter, I was driving my fella mad vaping in front of the telly going *fffffffft*, I might get away with more drags while his back's turned now!

I agree there is a bit of a breaking-in required. This is now my big fave e-cig :D

Oh, and it looks chuffing coooo-el!

Scott,
I've received my Black Evo, and I must say they look very nice.
One thing I am experiencing is that I have to suck hard for the e-cig o light up and produce vapour and illuminate and get a throat hi.
I mean real hard to the extent that I sometimes have to inhale twice to get the thing started.
Is this alright, and comparable to what you have experienced, or is there somehing wrong here?

no mate, it should not be like that! is it the same for both batteries? give john a email to let him know, im sure he will sort it out.

actually, try these things first:-

1. if you have some juice, add a drop or two on the wick of the atomiser (it has a function to not light if the atomiser is dry)

2. if no joy with number 1. then it could be the opposite and the atomiser is flooded. so fully drain the atomiser and then try again with a cart.

3. if none of the above work then with tweezers, remove the small inner cart. then replace the empty cart onto atomiser. any difference? if so it could be a duff cart.

if none of those work then email john at john@intellicig.com

ps...just in case you need it, here is the video showing how to do the stuff i mentioned:-

Hi Scott.
Thanks for the advice.

I switched the batteries and BEHOLD! Everything worked out just like your video review.
Glad I didn't have to even go through the 1st step you gave :)
I'm e-mailing John to request a replacement now. He is very busy at the moment.Took 2 days to reply my e-mail this week. I think he's sorting out some back orders he just received shipment of.

Anyway, I certainly feel that the white EVOs give more throat hit, vapour and easier to draw compared to the black one. I'll give this a couple of days and see if things improve.

Can the £65 price be justified on performance??

yes and no.

if it was £65 for just one e-cig on its own then that would be way too expensive regardless of how good it was.

but if you add up everything that you get in the package and assuming seperate selling prices would be the same as the white EVO's parts then there is really no difference in cost. in other words if you added up the seperate price for each item then it would be near enough the same price as if you had got 2 white EVO's and the extras.

if you are new to e-cigs then i really dont think you could go wrong with the white EVO package with the usb charger. its £19.99 which is a fantastic price for a really very good e-cig. if its really black that you want but only want 1 single EVO then wait a while as im sure one day they will probaby do the same packages as the white ones available. (dont quote me on that though!)

Thanks, the black does look good, but i can get

3 White Evo's
10 Carts and a charger for under £63

I think the black will have to wait, unfortunatley:mad:

yeah your right. i done my maths based on buying all the seperate parts but it would be cheaper to buy 2 "try me" kits plus the usb starter kit. that would give you 3 batteries, 3 atomisers, a charger and 15 carts. you could also get a further 10 carts to make a total of £53.96

Hey guys i too bought this kit.And i definetly agree with you guys about the breaking in period, at first vapor and throat hit wasnt really there. After about 8 hrs of vaping the hell out of the thing and adding my own juice, it really started comparing to my white one. Not sure which one i like better, i'll probably rotate them from day to day lol. I still have to say though im very happy with my intellicig products, and delivery time to Ny was surprisingly fast 4 days!:D

I got my black EVO too and it's breaking in quite nicely now. It definitely looks the part and is going to be my pub e-cig. The white EVO's my work one as one battery lasts me the best part of the day at work.

I've finally experienced the speed of the USB charging of these things now (I only had the mains chargers before). Wow! It charges my white EVO battery in less than half an hour and my black EVO battery in about quarter of an hour. How the hell does it manage that?!
