intersting stuff here with the atomizer resistance. I'm just wondering why no one is using pulse width modulation to adjust the heating/power output of the atomizer when running on high voltages. A simple schmitt trigger oscillator and mosfet seems like it would do the trick. I'll have to explore this a bit over the holiday weekend.

Placing a variable resistor in series with the atomizer coil will not work. The power is simply lost by heating the resistor (Power = Volts2/Resistance) so the voltage dropped across the resistor is due to the current though it causing power loss and just wasting your battery.

Hey Crash

Same conclusion here..

Using 2x 3.7 battys on my chuck vape is like about 6v and very good..

At 6v vapes to me like about 5v but maybe lower than that.

I wouldnt even try 3.7// lol No point to it..

However at 5v very poor production of vape on my GLV and Detonator devices,,,

This thing shines at 7.2v !

Still on my first atty.. Wanna see how long it actually lasts me.

I got mine a little while ago. First thoughts on the 510: 7.4 volts is too much, and it tasted burnt. At 6.0 volts it's fantastic. I've never gotten this much flavor out of a 510. Amazing. At 5.0v on a Prodigy it's very good but not as good as 6v. It's still much better than a stock 510 at 3.7v or 5v.

Still needs some more testing though.

got mine a few days ago first impression of 6 volts was weak lite vapor, then went to 7.4 volts and then i was very happy then went back to 6volts and it was much better then the first time the addy took some time to brake in still like 7.4 volts the most, started on the 801 today i have the same opinion of the 801, i have noticed that the 510 n 801 @7.4 v brings out the flavor much more.i would definitely like to try the 901. thanks nerf

I'd like the 901s too, I really hope the 'back ordered indefinitely' changes soon. Fortunately though, the 901 and 510 are almost identical at the same ohm rating, so I don't really feel like we're missing much.

Glad to know that everyone has been happy with the custom resistance atomizers so far though, keep updating the thread with new info, especially lifetimes of each atomizer.

I have bEen fortunate enuff that I have been testing one 510 exclusively so far at 7.4v only. I did try it at all voltages, but found it shines at 7.4v. Been mostly running it on my SB. Been three days and counting. I will continue to update as I go along. Next test will be 6v on my Chuck but waiting til I run out of blueberry cruble bc I only have a few ml left and don't want to switch attys yet ;). Glad to see people reporting back, I like to know what everyone is getting from thiers bc I only got 510s. :)

update to my 801 experience...

Seems like I am getting very inconsistent vapor using the 801s at 7.2 and 6v.
I have tried 2 attys now and both seem to exibit this trait. Sometimes they will produce good vapor and other times not.. Anyone else seeing this??

Update:

I found tonight that if I hold down my switch for 2-3 seconds before taking a hit that I get much more vape. Kind of like you might do a 3.7 device, Getting a head start so to speak.. Anyways, working much better with this method.. Im doing this on the Chuck at 7.4v
