I'm interested in making the switch to e-cigarettes and have been reading the forums for the past week or so.

Still had some questions though.

1. Would a joye ego-t be a good PV to start with ? Probably interested in a 650mah model.

2. For the average vaper, how long would 2ml last? I'm unsure on how much e-liquid I should order, and I know I would probably go with 50ml of menthol for a start and a few 10ml bottles of other flavors.

3. I understand that there is almost no smell or it dissipates really quickly, but if i'm vaping a tobacco flavoured e-liquid, would there still be the same cigarette smell?

I've been smoking for about 10 years, and hope to stop in the near future.
Thanks in advance for the answers guys

Welcome Chocablock (love your SN). Never used a tank. Everyone seems to advise ordering sample liquids at first, so you don't end up with a lot of juice you don't like. I have asked my daughter and she assures me there is no odor with my vaping (even in a closed car).

Please let me encourage you to give vaping a good hard try. It is great, IMO.

I can't really speak about egos having never used them, though I haven't heard good things about the ego T tank.

I vape between 4-5ml a day. So 2ml is gone mid afternoon for me. E liquids do have smells but they are not the same as a cigarette smell. People tell me my main juice smells like cotton candy. (even though it doesn't taste like it)

Welcome to our little romper room...while the egoT is a nice unit, I would skip it because the batts, while having plenty of capacity are regulated to 3.2v(low voltage) and the tanks, while they sound nice on paper, their implementation leaves a lot to be desired...instead, a Riva from liberty-flights would be a better choice as it has a higher voltage even though it looks just like an eGo...even better would be a Kgo from hoosierecigsupply.com...same diameter as the the eGo but a bit longer...it has twice the batt life of the eGo or Riva...an even better option is the E-Power from crystalclearvaping.com(and others)...it looks like the others, about the same length as a Kgo and a bit fatter, it has an industrial, drop in batt like a flashlite which both last longer and live longer than the other...the batts cost around 5bux Vs 12-17 for the others...while you are at CCV, pick up a full bundle of either the Boge2.0 or Resurrector cartos...the Boges hold 1ml of juice and the Resurrectors hold 2ml...I can get 2hrs of moderate/heavy vaping out of the Boges and 4 out of the Resurrectors, HOWEVER, I generally never get past about the 50% mark with them before I top them up...this gives better flavor/vapor production and insures best life for the carto...let finish by saying, good luck and HAPPY VAPING.................

p.s. I am a moderately heavy vaper and vape 4-5+- ml/per day.......................mj
p.s.s. try blumistvaping.com ...over 250 flavs a good sampler sized prices.........mj

Hi there --
Being relatively new myself, I can't answer your first two questions (I have a raspberry colored KR808-D with pre-filled carts and I love it) but as to the third -- my dad has fallen in love with Sahara and Desert Joe camel-cigarette e-equivalents. If I'm sitting right next to him, I can smell them when he smokes them - but it smells like fresh cut grass, hazelnuts and wood chips and the smell is gone in seconds.

I would suggest not ordering a large-ish bottle of any juice yet. Menthols are tricky. Some you'll find taste like Vicks vapor rub. Others too minty. Some Menthols people on ECF swear by and I can't vape them at all. You'll have to figure out which menthol works for you. As a menthol smoker I can tell you a good starting juice would be Nhaler.com's Nuport and his 555menthol. Order the small bottles. I like them, you may not.

Hi Choc and welcome to the forum!! Yeah, I would definitely be careful ordering a large bottle of juice at first - its better to get 5-10 ml samples so you can test them out to see if you like them. Taste is very subjective - there are many juices that people just rave about that I have tried and hated. I also agree about the eGo-T - does not work well - if I had it all to do over, I would go with the e-power. Good luck to you! Vaping is fantastic!!! :)

I would buy 5 or 10 ml bottles, even of menthol. There are some menthols I like and some I don't. Try a few and see which ones you like.

My daughter says it smells bad; she hates it. She also says it gives her a headache. I vaped in my sister's car yesterday, and after a few minutes she said it was bothering her.

This is what I got - I like my Kgo KGO 1100 mAh 2 battery kit. It is $44 for 2 set ups. Toss the cartridges that come with it and buy some cartomizers. Hoosier has the 1.7 XL cartridges; I would get some of those. Get a drip tip to put on your atomizer that comes with, so you can drip into the atomizer to try out new juices. Hoosier also has some good juices. I like Hoosier's Dekang Menthol a lot.

Best of luck!
Sandy

Hi Chocablock and welcome to ECF. As a new vaper I would not recommend a tank yet. Many new vapers have had issues with a tank and it's not a nice way to begin the vaping experience.
Batt Info:
100 mah= 1 hour vaping on single coil cartomizers.
A Riva is a good device and Boge cartomizers are high quality and prolly the easiest delivery system to get started on. After awhile, if you wish, you can purchase a tank add on for under $15.00. In regards to menthol I buy menthol crystals and dilute them with PG and add them to my fave Tobacco juices. You can also use menthol drops. I, like others, would also recommend you purchase samplers until you find your favorites. Remember the vapor is NOT from the juice but from our bodies so dehydration is a common issue. I drink 2 glasses in the a.m. and about 1 1/2 liters per day. The PG and more so the VG "trap" the moisture in our mouths and throats and thus we get the vapor.
Good Luck, Vapoor.

Welcome Chocablock! Good decision that you've made for yourself and your loved ones! A lot of good suggestions for you. It may be a bit confusing but that can be sorted out. The eGo is a good choice but you might want to start with the standard unit rather than the "T". +1 for the Boge 2.0 cartomizers to go along with it. It can be a challange until you actually start to vape and find out what works well for you.

Hi Chocablock, i had the eGo-t and i found the flavour to be slightly weak at first so got myself some cartomizers to use with my eGo batteries and am so happy with that set up, its really easy to fill and use. 2ml would probably last you 1 day. Spearmint is a really nice flavour, and you will probably like anything with menthol in it, such as choc-mint, rasberry-mint etc. There is an odour with vapour, but it is plesant, like if you had a pot of mint boiling on the stove, you would smell it but it is no where near as bad as smoke from a cigarette. Good luck in oyur transition, i bet you are going to love vaping as much as we do.
