My head is spinning this morning as I've been researching in an attempt to try to understand how traditional cigarettes (analogs) have been allowed to circumvent the Schedule F Drug ruling while delivering more proven toxicants than e-cigs. Still haven't found what I'm looking for but in the meantime, I came across this article :

Health Warnings on Canadian Cigarette Packages

Don't know if this is relevant to our fight but it seems rather odd to me that HC is actively trying to snuff out and ban the access and use of e-cigarettes when their biggest opposition seems to be BT.:?:

I think the last line in your link is key.

tobacco use costs the Canadian health care systems $4.4 billion a year in direct costs and continues to kill 37,000 Canadians every year.

As vapers we have decided that we do not want to be one of those 37,000 individuals and by vaping we will be reducing the burden on our health care system. With election day looming, shouldn't we be asking our local candidates if reducing skyrocketing healthcare costs is a priority to them and then ask them if they would support (or at least review) a product that could actually reduce the number of smokers and in turn reduce health care costs?

Not a surprising initiative since it falls into place with the WHO which plans to have a tobacco free world by 2020.

I see the WHO as being a very dangerous right-stripping entity...I can scarcely believe that the so-called civilized countries are mandating themselves to standardize to their guidelines...who made them God???

intresting... this i dont understand...I mean they are placing all these ad campaigns against smoke and taxes and complaining about strain on health care. But there is a healthier alternative to smoking and they dont want anyone to use it. I mean there are thousands of people who have boughten an ecig and havent smoked since... thats progress if you ask me...

I can understand how cigs bypass the law... nicotine is a byproduct if you will of burning tobacco, but in e-liquid its added... i think thats how the gov views it...

I just find this comical. How do they figure that by increasing the warnings from 50% to 75% it will stop people from smoking? "Oh look, the warning is even BIGGER now. I better stop."

Maybe they need to include audible warnings every time you open the pack like a Hallmark card. Warnings and education can only do so much. You think ...... users are ignorant to the fact that there addiction is dangerous? Of course not. Same goes for smokers. Scare people every day with advertisements and warnings and they just become immune. The powers that be need to wake up and realize that the majority of people need a substitute, not more lectures.

I really wish that class action suit was started a year ago. It's only gonna get worse before it gets better for us.

The ONLY purpose that these new requirements serve is to convey the image that the government is trying to do something about smoking. "Protect the children, vote for us." Balogne.
