Glass solid state batteries with better safety and 3X the power. Sounds good to me.

I have a hunch the form factor that they'll end up using will make our mods obsolete. Then again, it took 11 years for his Lithium Ion designs to bear fruit. Could take just as long for these to start hitting the market as well.

Multiple battery tech advancement announcements are made every week.
It takes years for these advancements to be commercialized and the vast majority of them never make it into a commercially available battery for a variety of reasons. Those that do are typically high-capacity, low amp-rated batteries as that is the biggest market.

But perhaps I'm just cranky today and this one will be available in a couple of years in a battery we can use. :)

Electric cars/trucks and grid power storage are going to be the drivers of battery tech for the foreseeable future.
Will the cells be usable in a mod? Maybe, but that hinges on Tesla making good on the battery plant and selling lots of cars. Otherwise, car makers are going to look for a more friendly size/shape for their designs. Hoards of small cylindrical cells vs custom cells that can fit here and there.
Grid storage is using various things like salt water batteries, molten metal, things that we aren't going to be able to use.
With the renewable power push, there's all sorts of battery tech coming out of the woodwork.
I'm kind of liking the 20700 and hope to see some mods that use it by year end.

Boxer already has a 20700 mod out.

I think I'll order one today providing you like the available 20700 batteries.
Off to see if you do.

    Edit:
    Seems the mods are pre-order.
Says shipping mid-February, so a month late.
I think I'll wait until someone gets a finished product, I have lousy luck with pre-orders.

Ahh....the reviewers have been showing theirs for a while now so I thought they were available retail.
