My morning routine used to consist of stumbling out of bed and starting up the coffee pot. While the coffee was brewing, I would smoke a cigarette. Often before I finished the cig I would need to use the bathroom. Now I stumble out of bed and start the coffee pot up. Drip a few drops on the atty and vape. Get my coffee, drink some coffee and drip a few more drops on the atty and vape some more. It takes much longer for my erm...bowels to wake up now.

Ok, so maybe interesting is not the right word... Just curious if anyone else has had this sort of change or any other unexpected changes since they started vaping.

Now that you mention it, my morning "visit" to the bathroom doesn't have to happen quite as quickly as it used to, so maybe you've got something there. :D I've heard around and about that cigarettes have stimulant properties to them. If that's true (and I haven't verified it ), it's no surprise that certain bodily functions might slow down a bit when we stop using the stimulating nasties. :2cool:

my routine was like yours, minus the bathroom part, that came after a pot of coffee lol

I haven't notice much body changes really, besides being thirsty a lot more and my rosacea not being as red as it use to be..

I have after decades of doing so though, suddendly stop drinking up to two pots of coffee a day and am only wanting my two morning cups now. And I'll be darn if I am not drinking loads of sweet tea and green tea, which is really weird cause I have hated tea for as long as I can remember but, this past month that is all I want to drink, guess my taste buds really are changing :)

ever since quitting I my BMs have been less frequent though I have been handling the hose a little more often, obviously from the increased water intake. I actually had a few cigs for the first time in 3 months over the weekend though, went to an outdoor concert and they padded me down and found my Prodigy V3, told them it was an e cig and they assumed it was for MJ, put it back in the car, went into the concert got a few cigs that a friend offered me. Next morning, I was feeling nauseous, I couldn't catch a full breathe, and I started having loose stools aka: Mudd .... (sorry for being so graphic). Even after a long shower I could still smell the crap venting through my skin, so yeah, I don't see myself having a relapse anytime soon.

is any one having a increase in ingrown hair or pimples when vaping ?

The breaking out seems to be a common problem. I found using a scrub like St. Ives apricot scrub (pretty cheap) a couple of times a week seems to solve that one. But hey, at least we don't stink anymore :D

I know in my case it isn't a lack of fiber :p I have oatmeal every day. Things just seem to happen about 30 minutes later than they used to, which is fine as long as I am not in a rush to get out the door! I did a quick google search and it seems that Little Girl might be correct about the stimulating properties of smoking. Here is one of the many links that pooped up on google :p Bowel Movements and Laxatives (BM & Laxative)

One of the few, if maybe the only one who never tried to fool myself into thinkng I wasn't still a smoker. I still love to treat myself to a couple of cigarettes an week since last year. A carton lasts me 10 months instead of 1 wk. I love the fact that I don't have to prove that I don't smoke when of course in vaping nic, I really do.
Smoking that one in the morning keeps the routine, so to speak, and for me personally, I don't see a need to change it, I love that.
Vaping is many things to many different folks but what I love about this is that I don't ever have to fall into that guilt ridden trap here that picking up a pv is a mandate to prove anything about smoking.
We've all been there, done that. I can co-exist and have the best of both worlds. It's easy if you moderate what you do .
- just one dudes point of view on the vape thang. No judgements :2cool:

I've been a smoker most my life (45 years) almost 57 now pmd and have never tried to fool myself into thinking I wasn't a smoker. I love seeing the vapor from e-cigs, it gives me so much pleasure.

I never planned to quit smoking real cigs, but it happened. I was only going to use this on the bike and a few other places I wasn't allowed my cigs. How surprised do you think I was when my desire for cigs flew right out the door/ Yep, it floored me and bless you that you can make a carton last 10 months now, that's quite the accomplishment.

I think it's due to the drop in serotonin that you're body is experiencing. One of serotonin's roles is as a muscle neuroreceptor including bowel functions. Chances are you'll experience constipation. Eat more fiber.

serotonin is a neurotransmitter that acts on neuroreceptors mainly in the brain and the gut which is why you may be feeling this difference in body functions...nicotine affects this chemical which is also why nicotine can have a calming effect in certain areas and a excitory effect in others...what it does in your guy is stimulate smooth muscle cells to contract which causes you to feel the urge to go to the bathroom...

hope that helps :)

onr thing of oatmeal is not sufficient fiber for the day...fyi...a normal adult should have between 25-30grams of fiber per 24 hrs...but fiber can ALSO make you constipated if you do not increase your fluid intake as well...

LOL - what's with those two cups of coffee? After years of not drinking coffee, I now want two cups of coffee every morning! I also have developed quite a hankering for chocolate that I wasn't plagued with before, but it sure is nice to satisfy that with some good truffles........ :D

Hmmm, Ive never experienced the later-than-normal-bm or the break outs. Coffee seems to be the catalyst for me. I cant get 3 sips of coffee down before I have to make a run for it! Could sleep patterns affect this as well and mess with our clocks? I know when I was smoking, no matter what time I went to bed, I would lie there for at least 30 minutes to an hour before finally falling asleep. Since I started vaping, I fall asleep right away. Im a lot more active now and I would get mad at myself at bedtime, for hardly being able to catch my breath after walking up two flights of stairs. So maybe it was more mental than anything, but nonetheless I do fall asleep much quicker since vaping.
