Okay, so this may sound weird to some people on this forum, but I want to try e-cigs without nicotine.
For a while, I've wanted to try the taste of tobacco without having the nicotine (or really the smoke, since that seems dangerous), but there didn't really seem like a way to do that. Regular cigarettes had both, and chewing tobacco didn't seem like a viable alternative.
However, i started looking at e-cigs a few weeks ago, and found out that electronic cigarettes don't have many of the side effects that regular cigarettes do, and that I can purchase cartridges with 0 mg of nicotine. I was reading up on Vegetable Glycerin, and noticed that it seems relatively harmless on the body (granted, it may give me a sore throat for a week as the body adjusts to it, but if that's really the worst, then that doesn't really concern me).
I do understand that there are still possible safety concerns with inhaling anything that isn't air in your body, and I do understand that there are a lack of safety studies performed, and that these claims to safety aren't backed by too many studies. However, I'm intrigued in the product and what it does.

This is why I am asking you all about your thoughts. Does it seem reasonable to try an e-cig without nicotine for tastes in the cartridges? Should I wait for new studies, or not try it at all?

Thank you very much for your time!

Hello!
I KNOW some people are going to rip me apart for this...but there is an off chance some may agree.
It's like this...I vape because I wanted to quit smoking. It worked. I LOVE vaping, but I have to say why start.
I am doing this as a viable alternative to smoking. I dont see the harm in trying it, but I don't think you'll get the same "satisfaction" that people who used to smoke do.

This is only my opinion...and i'm just some noob from Chicago.

The potential harm in e cigs is still undetermined, because they have not been around long enough for long term studies. For the vast majority of us, we believe 100% that it is a much much safer alternative to smoking. But we are still putting something besides oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide into our lungs, so we don't know what the effects may be.

If you are determined to suck on something that allows you to blow a cloudy substance into the air, I would absolutely suggest e cigs over the real thing. However, I would say if you don't already have the habit, try not to create one. If you are going to vape, I would say stay with the 0 nic like you posted. No need in creating a physical addiction to the nic that will need to be sustained especially if e cigs are banned. (Hopefully that won't happen, but you never know.)

I vape mostly 0mg. I was actually NEVER an analog smoker. I was a constant herb smoker (smoking a "blunt" or two every half hour or so- seriously), and when I quit that I felt like I was missing something. This something was the physicality of smoking, including dragging from something and blowing out a big cloud, as well as doing smoke tricks.

So I say, why not try vaping? Remember- the best things in life are unhealthy ;).
