Well, I started vaping almost two weeks ago, and the day after I started I smoked my last marlboro. Yay for me! However, I am having a few issues that I could use some advice on.

I started with a KR808 kit, and at first it seemed kinda bland. But, my taste buds started working again, now I know what the big deal is on the flavors. Only problem, I got really tired of having to bring two batteries to college with me and making sure to bring the charger to charge them in my car. So, I got an Ego kit for longer battery life.

Here is my issue. I like the longer battery life, but it seems like a much cooler vape, and doesn't have the flavor or volume of vapor. I have already done the highping cart mod, and I do like the added time between having to refill carts. However, I think I might have screwed up the attys. Normally, the second or third draw tastes burnt. I was thinking about getting either new LR attys, some 2 ohm cartos, or the tank setup. I am looking for something that gives the flavor and warmth of the 808, but I do not want to keep throwing money at it (I'm a single dad in college, money doesn't grow on trees), and something that lasts longer would really be great. Advice please???

You'll be running the risk of losing your battery by using a LR atty on your eGo. The reason for the big difference between your KR808 and the eGo is voltage. The KR808 is a 3.7V device and the eGo is a 3.4V device (3.2V under load.) I know there are people who will say they use LR atty's on them and haven't had any trouble, but there are others who have lost multiple batteries by doing this. The MOSFET type switches used in the eGo/Riva type batteries aren't designed to handle the power generated by LR attys.

Carts shouldn't be used with LR attys, either. They can't wick fast enough to keep up with the heat generated and the atty will get dry as a result. Dry atty = dead atty.

If you're getting a burnt taste with your current attys then you might want to clean them. Just give them a soak in 91% Isopropyl Alcohol for about 15 minutes and let them dry overnight.

There's a couple of solutions to your problem. As WoH stated there's a voltage difference between the KR8 and the 510 models. You can use 2.0 ohm carto's to give more vapor but it will still be cool in my experience. 2.0 to 2.2 ohm's should be ok on an eGo, but that's my opinion. The other option is the 306's atty's. Even the standard 306 gives warm vapor, warmer than I like. It also produces good volume. I'd try this option since it's just a matter of buying an atty and cart's or drip tip. I haven't seen carto's in the 306, but maybe someone else has.

If you wanna try it out all you have to do is get one of these Disposable 306-b MINI Vaporizer and you'll get a standard 306 atty, a few cart's, and a disposable battery. The atty and cart's work on an eGo so you're set to give it a shot. They also carry drip tips if that interests you.

I got out the multimeter and was looking at the other parts that I got with my ego, and had some interesting results. I got a pack of 5 Joye cartomizers, and their resistances were all over the charts. There is one that is DOA, the rest are about 3.4 ohms. However, there was one at 2.2 ohms. I just filled it, let it set a while, and gave it a try.

Lo and behold! There is the warm foggy stuff!!! I think that I should just order some 2-2.2 ohm cartomizers, and I will be set. Thank you all!

Vapor Kings sell the Boge 2.0ohm cartos...highly recommend!
