It actually acts as both a stimulant and a relaxant.
It is a stimulant because it releases adrenaline. It is a relaxant because it releases dopamine. That works for panic people because it is targeting the expected problem area.

Every panic person I know who also smokes confirms that nicotine helps in spite of anti-tobacco propaganda that's willing to ignore part of the equation to send panic disorder people into hell to achieve their goal.

The 11mg with occasional 18mg (starting today) is working to keep the cravings at bay and the VG is not causing any issues. I'll work on the addiction after the habit is taken care of.

As a panic person myself, I agree it "helps" but I think it's more of a conditioned response than real help from dopamine release. I've lived through panic attacks both ways and I've never noticed a lessening of symptoms or a shorter duration when I smoked versus not smoking or not vaping.

Still, everybody is different. ;)

I noticed near instant relief when I picked a cigarette back up. I was quit for about 2 years and at the point I was cutting back on the pipe and the constant high nicotine tobaccos I was using naturally before I went into the bad panic cycle.

Everybody really is different. I have OCD (in addition to GAD). I actually tracked my attacks (how sad is that?). Nothing made a difference for me outside my own head. I'm on top of the panic attacks now but it was all down to cognitive behavioral therapy for me. I highly recommend it.

I doubt I'll ever be "normal" but CBT has changed some pretty destructive aspects of my personality.

You need to do what works for you. I've heard good things from people who've used nic therapeutically and good things from people who've stopped using it. It's down to individual variation, I think.

Shrinks cost too much even with insurance.
I think if the doctors wouldn't have dragged it out for months on that last cycle before giving me Xanax I wouldn't have got so bad. Once I got the Xanax the cycle was broke and I was able to start working on being at home without panic and then getting out of the house. I identified my negative thoughts and corrected them with a recording I played all the time and printouts I stuck up everywhere.
Using the Xanax to step out further comes down to affordability too, mainly the gas prices. I just can't afford to go anywhere with enough consistency to get used to it.

You can do this online for free. The techniques aren't secret and no face-time is necessary if you are motivated. My first brush with this was using a book called "Hope and Help for Your Nerves". The book coupled with Inderal from my doc took me 80% into recovery. Later, I was able to pay for CBT. My HMO wouldn't cover it since it wasn't a drug cure or a group or "talk" therapy.

Help is out there for you. It's just not effortless to find it. At one point, I didn't think I would be able to work, the panic was so debilitating. But I had to work and that little book turned my life around. You can manage this with some tools.

PM me if you are interested.

In my case, I found that the county health dept. had their own therapists. They charged $10 per visit, and I didn't even have to prove low income. Might be something to look into in your state. Big Pharma drugs scare the jeebees out of me. I'll take natural mood stabilizers, thank you very much.

Wow, ours isn't like that. When I was bad agoraphobic I didn't have insurance and the doctors referred me to the county, it would've still been expensive.

Hi there...I was originally looking for people using WTA to see what their responses were when I came upon this thread. I too am panic prone (have been completely agoraphobic to panic free and back to panic over the past 26 years) I would have times of panic that was so bad I could not smoke an analog during an attack because I basically couldn't take a breath in which to inhale. I have been on Imipramine and Klonopin, went off both on my own, then back to Klonopin and just recently was given Lexapro in addition to Klonopin, although my Dr wants to see me go off the Klonopin as I have been on it 7 years now.
I have had some on again off again feelings of heavy lungs with the PG, although I mostly have attested it with anxiety. I recently purchased WTA juice to see if I can get completely off the analogs (cut from 1.5 pad to 1/2 pad using the e-cig) When I use only the e-cig I not only have a heavy feeling, but also crave my analogs, even when it tastes awful and I am not really enjoying them like I used to. I have only been using the WTA for 1/2 a day so far and not sure if it is working yet as time will tell, if the craving for an analog is mild enough that I don't go running to buy a pack.
Glad to meet others that face some of the same issues that I do.

Oh! I'm very interested in hearing about how the WTA does for you! I've been curious about WTA but haven't tried any myself.
I will let you now chad. So far so good. At first I was a little shakey about it, but again, that is a normal response for me when I am not 100% comfortable with a substance (or food). I have been vaping my other non-WTA flavors and only picking up the WTA pv when I feel like I need an analog. So far so good!! Waiting now to see if the results last! Nice to "meet" you btw:)
