Found this whole searching for some other things..
Is this guy just trying to get a patent on the warm water extraction?? Or is he Also trying to get a patent on nic In ecig cartridges?? Link below and the patent app is not that old

It would appear so to me. I'm not versed in patent regulations but think this was already done in the 1960s. I read about it in a wiki somewhere.

What I found interesting in that app was that specific selection of of tobaccos

The method of claim 1, wherein the tobacco is selected from the group consisting of USDA Type 35, USDA Type 36, USDA Type 37, Nicotiana rustica, flue-cured tobacco, USDA Types 11-14, Burley, USDA Type 31, and blends thereof.
