Diacetyl is that lovely buttery flavour. Almost any juice that uses buttery notes in its flavour will have it. Most of the time there's no way to know, and it's far more likely than not.

Diacetyl up until recently was the chief butter flavouring in microwave popcorn. Most have stopped using it, but some still do.

All TRUE

But still a FAR cry from what WAS first stated (it's also in vanilla custard type flavors BTW)

In the future when asked about a statement YOU have made it MIGHT be "best" to simply provide an answer- Just sayin'

EDIT TO ADD MY Mistake wrong poster quoted :D

I am aware of Diacetyl and avoid buttery vapes now for that reason. But not ALL juices have it. Not even all the popcorn blends do.

So why do disagree with me ?

You imply that "everyone knows or knew " about all this yet the news headlines and law suits proved this was not the case at all, you don't seem to realize the reasons ammonia is added to cigarettes and I assure you it has nothing to do with "taste or branding" . Part of the reason we all come here is to share knowledge and to learn things we need to know, and IF BT is considering coming into Niquid or vaping we need to KNOW this stuff (not question what is well known already without even checking) IMO

NOW i know WHY you avoid the issue, I have followed all those threads and NO they don't state what you claim- not even close. As for the condescending tone you seem to enjoy taking, I Just LOL and carry on

Avoid what ? I haven't avoided anything it is you that has avoided it. I only refused to post links when it is easy to search for yourself. Yes some don't know but it is their responsibility to know what goes into their products!!!

I find it hilarious you claim that you can't find anything about harmful components in our juice then you openly admit it and that there may be more. Put a fork in it your done

I agreed with you over the ammonia in cigs

You'd have to KNOW they're included to "knowingly " do anything, I SERIOUSLY doubt you know how harmful those things are as they have added several thousand more chemicals quite recently, the effects/affects likely won't materialize for quite some time but I'm doubting it will be positive for anyone.

Thousands more chemicals? A slight exaggeration there methinks.

Yes I was aware that there are a vast number of things added to tobacco cigarettes to give them certain properties.

I think you may be far older than I am. I was taught this stuff in school.

Let ME have a laugh here

Sorry should have said most vendors offer juice that contain components that can cause major health problems without a mention of it in the description nor will they admit to it. Some do not fall under this description.

I can pick apart posts also but tend not do that because I have better things to do......

Someone IS DONE- but it's NOT ME LOL

Sure YOU avoided it like I said it's very obvious now WHY you did (even after "correcting yourself" no less)

I will repeat A FAR cry from what you claimed - not even close

I find it hilarious you claim that you can't find anything about harmful components in our juice

Not even close to what I actually said, I was VERY clear in I had Not found what YOU had stated as a 'fact' I stand by that 100%

Fork-You-Done

Not at all, depending on who you choose to believe there are NOW between 4,000 and 7,000 chemicals in cigarettes

It's always been that way.

Combustion of straight, unadulterated tobacco leaf will give you somewhere between those figures.

There are about 600 known additives that companies use. Many of them are flavourings and some are there to modify the speed at which the cigarette burns. Some others will help the smoker absorb nicotine faster and others will aid the smoker in being able to tolerate the toxins already present in the smoke.

You will not find a cigarette with all 600 additives, not even close.
Nobody has recently added thousands more chemicals to cigarettes. The most recent publicised change are the fire safe additives. One or two would suffice surely.

At any rate I'm quite certain that the vast majority of us here agree that we do not want BT or the Government involved in vaping

Though we clearly don't agree on what most means LOL

What I can't understand is why anyone thinks the government would want to "get involved" in vaping.

They won't get involved, they'll just do what canada did and just ban it.

The US government in particular has a vested interest in ensuring the success of BT for at least another 10 years.

Maybe when we get closer to that time will we see BT pursuing a different line and the government will "un-ban" it.

Soooooo, how about them patents :)

They're just patents.

Oil companies own patents for slightly more efficient power generation systems and we never see them in production.

I honestly don't believe that BT are planning to jump into electronic smoking anytime soon, they're just preparing themselves for the many different directions they may be forced to take in the future to preserve their interests.

Yea, patents don't mean anything. My ex seems to have a half dozen patents at any given time, he has not accomplished squat. LOL

I don't blame you at all LOL

From post #93

I am one of the few that agree we need regulation. I wished we as a community could figure out how to regulate ourselves but it isn't looking good.

Most of these vendors take off the shelf flavorings that contain things that can cause all kinds of health problems. They have no idea of what is really in the stuff they are selling. It needs to be 3rd party verified.
