so i quit smoking cigs 1 week ago today. since then i have tried the Blu ecig with the High nicotine cartridges, well yeah those sucked, but they helped me stay off cigs. so on monday i picked up and EVOD VV and EVOD 2 Tank, and some 10mg 50/50 juice at a very reputable local vape lounge/store. I love this thing!

ok now the strange/interesting question.

on monday i vaped aprox 2-3ml of the 50/50 10mg juice and had a horrible time going to sleep, horrible night mares, and the worst part, woke up tuesday with mind blowing ........!!!. So i figured that maybe i over did it on the vaping, BUT i used to smoke 1 pack a day and i'm sure there was more nicotine in 1 pack of camel lights then the 2-3 ml of 10mg 50/50 juice i vaped.

tuesday i was much more careful and vaped easily 50% less than monday...all was fine slept well, no bowel issues.

wednesday i again vaped aprox 2-3 ml of a different flavor 50/50 10mg juice and guess what....couldnt sleep, night mares again, and this morning another loose stool (sorry for the graphic description).

so my question is.....is this a PG reaction? VG reaction??

i know the Blu e-cig never gave me this issue, and that was all Johnson Creek VG 18-24mg i believe, and i could crush an entire cartridge in one day and have no issues. also in all my years of cig smoking i would only ever get the loose stool after smoking a ton of cigs.

I am really enjoying vaping and i haven't wanted a cig at all so i would like to keep vaping and not smoking but if it keeps me in the bathroom every day i may not be able to.

thanks in advance for your help

Lot's of people seem to have sleep issue's and things when they first start out. Things should settle down after a while when the chemicals from the cigarette's leave your body. If not then you should start experimenting with your PG/VG mix to see what will suit you best.

Good luck and welcome to the forum :)

Some people have reported various allergic reactions to PG. I agree with you this may be the issue since you have experience with BLUCIGS (they couldn't help me quit, BTW). Try a lower mixture or as close to 100% VG and you can get and see if there is a change in your nighttime experiences.

    Congrats on quitting!

    Morning and welcome to ecf.

Sounds more like too much nic to me. All of the reactions you describe indicates that. One thing you should not do is compare the nic in stinkies to the nic in the ejuice. Not a one-one ratio, plus the delivery system vastly differs between the two. I would stick with what your body is telling you instead of comparing. Your body is telling you that you are fine when you lower your ejuice intake. Just my opinion, but this does happen very frequently to newer users.

    Hope this helps a bit.

    :)

Nicotine is a stimulant and I personally believe that an evod delivers a munch stronger punch than a regular cig in my opinion. But nicotine being a stimulant that is what is making it hard for you to sleep. As for your second issue it could possibly be an allergic reaction to the pg/or vg but it could also be due to the flavorings. Some people are allergic to the natural or artificial flavorings event though they have eaten it their whole life and never had a reaction. The difference is that you are taking the flavorings directly into your lungs and your receiving much more of the flavorings into your system at once. Not sure if this is definitely where the problem lies but it is a possibility.

thank you all of you, it is good to get some feedback on this issue. The flavors i have been using are both fruity, one is pomegranate, and the other is an orange/tangerine.

i know that to much fruit will always put most people in the bathroom with similar symptoms. maybe i need to try a different flavor?

If you were eating the fruit, I would say yes. Vaping those? No. :)

I agree with the too much nic..............

You should try to get a strength for when you crave cigarettes the most (morning, after meals, drinking) and a strength for all day use, whatever satisfies your cravings then and about half of your all day use like 6mg or less for the night time or a few hours before bed. At a worse case, you should have two levels of nic. I have read about people with similar issues and similar advice.

i also thought that 2-3ml of 10mg wouldn't be a lot of nic, but one thing i forgot to mention, both days i had the issue i was at the vape lounge testing flavors, and all of their testers are 25mg nic.....i suppose i didnt take into account the 30+ vapes of that stuff, is it possible that may be causing this? they are still 50/50 blends but more than double the nic, and they burn the hell out of my throat compared to my 50/50 10mg.

Everyone is really different. I have read here, people using 36mg and others who quit using 6mg. It has a lot to do with how much you smoked, what your body can handle and so on...........but, people sometimes don't realize that with smoking, nicotine is instant but with vaping; it can take 15-30 minutes so your body keeps asking for nicotine, you vape and nothing happens instantly. It is easy to over-do it and then you can having the sleeping issues.

Your body is still going through changes just from not smoking regular cigarettes alone, and then on top of that it sounds like your body isn't used to the increased amount of nicotine you are taking in. Nicotine is a stimulant and is not much different than drinking coffee before bed. You are going to have weird dreams because you mind is racing due to high stimulant intake. The same thing happens to me after a few years of vaping.

Just don't vape so much for about an hour before bed and you should be fine. The PG and VG likely have nothing to do with the symptoms you are experiencing.

Congrats on your first week saqueeb, and welcome to the second week of the rest of your life. Many thanx CreepyLady, and Robino1 for that link. I've never read it before and a lot of it rings true - in my case Grave's Disease showed it's head when I first tried to quit.

Saqueeb, I think you shouldn't worry about the frequent bathroom visits, it's a common symptom of the switch and will die down soon. If it doesn't then you should think about reducing the nic as already advised, or even reduce the PG. Everyone is different, I went from 45 a day straight to 5ml @ 12mg without an issue.

You won't escape all the effects of quitting smoking. The nicotine in vaping will stave off the horrific cravings that cause so many of us to fail to quit but you have to keep in mind you are quitting thousands of chemicals (more than 50 of which are known carcinogens). With vaping, you only kept one: nicotine. You dumped all the thousands of other chemicals. So, yeah, there can be some odd patches as your body adjusts.

Sleep issues are common in the early days. I had them. Bizarre dreams are not usual (I always thought that one was really weird). You may have over done it. Or you may not. I haven't a clue. I had a bout of not quite insomnia where I was wide awake until the wee hours. I say "not quite" because I've had insomnia and it's really unpleasant. This was... I was just wide awake. Just not even sleepy nor tired... it was odd.

My sleep cycle flopped around like a fish outta water for a while. Some days I could have slept right through, other days I felt like I needed no more than a nap. In time, it settled down into some of the best sleep I've had in years. It's a pretty normal cycle now and I actually feel like I get rest at night.

Give it some time. You're actually making a huge change. It can be bumpy sometimes. I found that despite some oddball periods and some annoying things happening, it was a million times easier than any of my many "quit" attempts.

(Edit: not to mention, this worked, nothing else lasted more than about six months at best)
