Sitting down, facing forward.
It's interesting to note that this article, like most that seem to slam vaping, never mention the number of chemicals, concentrations of those chemicals, hazards of those chemicals, that are present in traditional tobacco cigarettes. In the mean time, they also never mention that both propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin are GRAS (generally regarded as safe) by almost every health agency in the world. The effects of nicotine are always mentioned, but again, the negative effects that seem most pronounced in extreme dosage level, not the relatively low amounts in vapor. On top of all of that, it's never mentioned that the medical field regard nicotine as being similar to caffeine in its effects and it does have some medicinal value as well.

I'm not saying that vaping is perfectly safe, but compared to the chemical/carcinogen soup that is in a modern tobacco cigarette, common sense says it has to be much safer.
