Discovery... When we purchased our e-cigs 11 days ago we went to a company in town who also sells in some grocery stores, a head shop, and from what I understand some gas stations. Not complaining, makes it more convenient for us. Anyway we paid $59 for an ego-c type for the hubs. My mini has been just not cutting it, I am hitting this thing like crazy and getting very little vapor at all. It was cool for a minute, the whole needing it to feel like a cig went away pretty quickly though. So he decided to go to the head shop that we frequent for our stuff. He already had an extra battery and he bought for a back-up and extra cartridges. He finds they sell a 3 piece VCT Atomizer for $17. Anyway so we found we could build our own E-cig with the same exact parts quite a bit cheaper than buying a new e-cig, like $15 cheaper and that's buying stuff at the store, I can only imagine how much cheaper if we purchased parts from reputable internet dealers.

Suggestions?... So it made us start thinking about building our own. So this is what we are looking for and hope you all can help us pick out the right parts and right dealers for our wants. We want something not too large so we can actually use it away from home. It has to be small enough to fit into a pocket but with the part that holds the juice big enough that I am not filling it what seems like every 15 minutes like it feels now and a battery that lasts longer than 2 hours. The ego would be great except because of my business (photographer) the mouth piece can't look like a cigar mouth piece (Prefer it look like a pen or something because I wear it around my neck) and this thing leaks like crazy... at least the 1 hubs built for me does. It worked great for a few hours then suddenly it was making all these gurgling sounds and a few minutes later my hand is covered in juice. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I had a thread for pictures of gear but I've been busy revamping my blog site (UGH) and lost the darn thing. We ordered this 1 (the 31st, STILL waiting) http://www.vapedudes.com/Ego-C_p_335.html

You could use cartomizers, which are basically atomizers and cartridges built as 1 disposable unit. Boge XL cartos hold 1.4ml or 30-35 drops of juice, and they'll usually last a minimum of 2 to 3 days before you start getting quality degradation. Some shops sell them for just over a dollar apiece -- surevapes.com gives you free shipping, too.

I find the eGo C cartos very leaky. However you can easily use the eGo C battery with one of these - Kanger are very very good - especially the T2's and the T-4s.
Kanger T4 510 Slim Clear Cartomizers 1ml 2.2ohm - 1PC [gv-KangerT4-2.2] - $2.75 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more
Kanger T2 Replaceable Top Coil 2.4ml eGo Clearo 2.2ohm - CLEAR [gv-KangerT2-2.1-2.3ohm-CLEAR] - $5.45 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more They are designed for eGo - and 510 batteries (with an "eGo adapter". If you have a different battery they won't work quite so well as they're not designed for them. I have an eGo and 510 batteries and have found the Kangers to be very reliable, and unleaky. You can buy replaceable heads (atomizer thingy) for the T2's - for $1-2 which is cheaper than replacing the entire "clearomizer" They don't have filler to fuss about with like regular cartomizers do.

Thank you, I wasn't sure if you could mix and match different parts. Do you have a preference and if so why? Thanks!

For the eGo batteries I am still loving the Kanger T2's and they do get a lot of love around the forum. Yes you'll hear a lot about vivi novas and all sorts of thingies that you can rebuild, rewick, re-coil. Me, I just want to fill 'er up, screw it on the battery, and (after allowing time for the wick to get nice and absorbed with juice) be on my merry old way. Sort of "plug n play" of olden days ......well... at least when the concept actually occasionally worked...... And of course the replaceable atty doo-dad is handy for someone not in to gadgetry - just pay $1-2 to get it firing again, instead of $5-6 for a whole new one. I'd say it's worth a try, maybe just buy 1 to see if its for you to start with.

Hiya, sounds to me like you need some 510 cartomizers. Also - they may fit the system you're using now. Not sure, but if your battery has 510 threads then 510 cartomizers would fit. Cartomizers will last longer than your atomizers you've been using, and can be refilled. I agree with previous posters, Kanger make very good cartomizers.

510 cartomizers are pretty much the same as the cartomizers in the smaller cigarette looking minis.
The do hold more juice - about 1 -1.5 ml and, depending on your own use, that might last you a while.
I am not personally happy with cartomizers as, no matter what I do, I still end up getting a burned taste from burning the fiber fill.

As for vivi novas - you do not have to rebuild these from wire. They have replacement heads that just screw on and no messing with anything (except an occassional cleaning).

However, they dont look like a pen. They are way more obvious and that might be a problem for you.

back to cartomizers - this is the only thing I can think of with a pen like appearance. and yes,you can get them for your current batteries. Since they have the atty already integrated you can just ditch the spike atomizer that came with the c.
AND you can even get pen caps for your ego style batteries.

Of course i wrote all of that and decided to google some sources for you for pen caps and I found this little thing - it might be something close to what you are looking for. Windowed Cone with Pen Cap

The ego batteries have whats called a 510 connection on the inside and an EGO thread on the outside, there are millions of options using this device, most people find them in a local store as you did and dont realize the overwhelming amount of gear made for them till later.
. I like the kanger T2's also, havent seen one leak yet and hold a pretty good amount of juice, as with anything in vaping make sure you order extra coil heads, nothing worse then having something fail and being stuck without because we forget to prepare.

So if I am understanding this correctly, the threads can go either way? I know it has inside threads and outside threads but my mine only has inside ones. The mini is getting passed on anyway so don't need anything for that 1. The ego I posted is what I am interested in. What do the coil heads look like?
