For a couple of days now the threads take forever to load. Sometimes they will show up and I can navigate, but they keep trying to finish loading.

Replies sometimes are not loading.

Today I have got the 504 Gateway Timeout a few times.

Even now when typing this the site is still trying to finish loading.

I have been to lots of other websites and no problem with my computer or internet.

Firefox current version. On a laptop.

Yes, did a virus and malaware scan.

No updates in the last couple of weeks.

All other websites work fantastic. Even FB loads quick.

It is just ECF that is giving me a problem.

I have signed out and back in several times to see if that is a problem.

that is probably your best hope and might get you on a different ecf server. seems to me load balancing is not doing so great again lately.;)
@ rose and sonic - nerak is not alone. plenty of others have reported slow-downs but, unfortunately, don't find their way to site feedback and help. the slow-down is not consistent - while some posters in a thread are getting frustrated with the load times others others don't experience a problem at all. this seems to point to a server in the line-up not doing its job ;)

We have got a growing problem with the megathreads that will have to be addressed no matter how much members don't like having their threads split.

We know that megathreads cause problems, so ignoring that issue is not a great idea.

Threads need to be closed when they reach 2,000 pages of 10 posts (20,000 posts). Ideally before that, around 1,500 pages maybe, as 2,000 is the maximum figure recommended for the vBulletin forum software. The thread can then be restarted with [threadname-2] as the title or whatever else is preferred.

Until we get the megathreads split then it is pointless looking at other issues.
