First off finding this forum was like a great pyramid in a sandstorm, i'm thankful to have found it and to be here. My name is Mike, I have really only experimented with disposable ecigs and I enjoyed them but i'm looking for something more permanent to kick the analogue habit as well as help save some cash in my wallet.

I'm looking for something midsize with a tank and so far i'm set on getting the eGo DCT, although i'm slightly confused on all the parts, i've watched some videos and it's not rocket science. From what I gather the atomizer or clearomizer from what eGo calls it, will last about three weeks before it need replacing? The battery should last much longer, and I just need juice to keep filling the tank? According to the starter kit, it comes with 5 cartridges, I thought with the tank and juice, i dont need cartridges? If anyone could shed a little light, maybe a brief description of how it all works I'd greatly appreciate it, otherwise i'm probably going to figure it out hands on when I get it.

DCT =dual coil tank, that is permanent but needs to be rebuilt with a new cartonizer...that's all it is...U have to replace the cartomizer inside the tank that is surrounded by the liquid, every 3-4 weeks....depending on how much and often U vape...they say the average person vapes 3-5ML daily....fortunately I vape less so these tanks and clearomizers and their rebuildable parts such as atomizers, wicks, coils, and cartomizers, last me longer..

why not use a simple CE4 (completely disposeable and $1.29 for a new one at fasttec.com) clearomizer after 3-4 weeks....or a CE5 clearomizer (rebuildable for $1.29) after same time..or a T3 rebuildable ($2 for a new heater/coil) clearomizer after same time..

I second the evod. Best bang for the buck for beginners. Simple to maintain and switch heads. Reliable too. I have a handful and none of them give me any problems. One downside is that most come with 2.2-2.4ohm coils. Not the best for fixed voltage batts. If the vapor isn't good enough it's easy enough to go down to 1.8-2.0 for about a buck each.

Ego batteries are great starter kits and last quite a while between charges. the mAh of the battery is the duration it will last. 400 mAh =4 hours, 650 mAh =6.5, 1300 mAh = 9 hours.

You will need 2 batteries and clearomizers, a usb charger and wall adapter for that charger to begin. Plus liquid to fill the cartomizers or clearomizers. Most vendors sell starter kits with all of the above.

If you like a cool vape, use BCC (bottom coils) like the EVOD; if you want a warmer vape, then use top coils like the iclears or Vivi Novas and Stardusts/CE4.

Welcome, and we are all here to help.

Heres the best starter kit U can get , its only $44 and has most everything U will ever need......it uses CE5's which are same as CE4's except U can rebuild the CE5 for $1.04 (fastec.com) with a new 1 piece wick and atomizer that just unscrews and slides in and out... DV eGo-T Starter Kit - 1100mah

2 CE5's (rebuildable)
2 Ego C 1100 a batterys (will last a 1 yr each) and I get 2 days vaping out of 1 battery
1 carrying case
1 USB battery charger
1 AC charger

Now I would just order 1-2 blunt tip needle tips (69 cents each about)...and some eliquid from Best E Cigarette | Buy Electronic Cigarettes | E Cig Juice - MT Baker Vapor..a nice 555 or ry4 flavor may be good to start with..
