Frustrated

This is my first post. I've been vaping for a few months. Started out on an ego + clearo, now on a zmax + protank. I was vaping hot vapes cherry sucka, then decided to try new flavors. Being new to the vendors and to ecf I went looking for sweet tart flavored eliquid. I bought some from the first place I saw online, alien vapor. It was delicious. Then I saw all the rave reviews about mt baker vapor and others trashing alien vapor. So I thought sweet tart eliquid from mt baker would be much much better. It was horrible, not even close and I can't inhale it without coughing and a very harsh chemical after taste. I thought it was a fluke, so I ordered some moon dog juice and some monster bash. The monster bash tastes like bubble gum and the moon dog juice is just like the chemical sweet tart I had before. I have no other choice but to get a pack if reds and buy a huge bottle of sweet tarts from alien vapor....because it tastes like I but down on a mouthful of sweet tarts, not chemicals. I'm sure mt baker makes good juice and have lots of happy customers, I'm just ...... at this point. ...... at mt baker and ...... so many people trash alien vapor when their juice is good. Sweet tart and moon dog juice from them is flat out horrible. Their shipping was fast but I would rather waited longer for good tasting juice. Sorry if this is in the wrong section or if I've broken some other rule by mentioning vendor names, I'm just venting. Time for a smoke.

Time for a smoke or time for a vape?

Every vendors has its own followers and fanboys/girls. Taste is very subjective. I actually like the taste of burning cotton with menthol, but I can't just burn my wicks to get that flavor :( Any fruity flavor you recommend from Alien vapors? By fruity, I mean like ripe juicy fruits, not candy like flavors such as starburst or jollyranchers.

So sorry to hear that you are having problems. I only order from Mt Baker. Have not found a bad one yet. Did you try them straight out of the bottle or let them steep for at least a few days. All their juices are freshly made when you order. Shaking them and steeping them blends all the flavors together. I also recommend with any juice that you shake them every time before filling a tank, carto, etc....hope it all works out. Juices are just like batteries. You need back ups for your back ups. I probably have 40 bottles. I order 2 or 3 a week so that I always have a supply on hand.:D

Taste is very subjective, and one Sweet Tart from Vendor A will taste nothing like the Sweet Tart from Vendor B.

That being said, I find most of the time that juices that have that chemical or floral/purfumey taste/smell need at least a week of steeping - at least. I hate that aspect of vaping - when I get a juice, I want it to taste awesome when I finally get it in the mail (which can seem to be the longest taking thing ever at times :p).

Along with steeping, most vendors have optional ratios of PG and VG on their juices. I think the throat hit is mostly from PG while the natural sweetness is from the VG. I've been going with a 65% PG/35% VG juice that's on point, while I think the standard for some vendors is 80/20.

I haven't tried Mt. Baker yet, but people on here sure seem to love it.

try leaving the cap off over night in a safe place maybe the chemical taste will go away. I found when I first started vaping people would rave about one juice vendor or another and I would rush out and buy their juice and after I would get it I couldn't understand why people loved it so much so I stopped listening to the hype and stopped watching juice reviews and just stuck with what I liked. when I had extra cash I would order same samples from different vendors. Now I DIY all my juice.

Time for a smoke I'm afraid. I love vaping, love it. I can't vape this stuff, it's too awful. I haven't tried their fruit flavors, just candy ones. I'm out of eliquid. I have learned a valuable lesson. The best price is not the best vape. I'm thinking of getting some from juicy vapor, again, soooo many rave reviews. Hope it's not a repeat scenario. I really like the fake candy flavors. My teeth are in bad shape and I can't eat it anymore because it hurts.

"SPINFUEL: Do you “Steep” your eLiquids before they are shipped to customers? If so, how long, on average, does it take to steep?

MT Baker Vapor: We ship out a fresh bottle to our customer. Always mixed within 24 hours of their order. It can take 2 – 3 weeks for the juice to reach its full potential depending on how much VG was loaded into their mix.

I'll second MtBaker Vapor...prices are terrific, and there are tons of flavors to choose from. I personally wasn't crazy about their tobaccos, but nice fruits and menthols. When nothing tastes good, I vape unflavored nic juice with a drop or two of cherry, or another fruit, maybe some Ice. Perhaps the flavor intensity is starting your coughing?

Another vendor that makes nice. And interesting flavor combinations is Mr-e-liquid. Vape nectar is a sweet mixture, with a touch of tart. (too sweet for more than a few vapes, but great to flavor plain nic juice). Snowday is a peppermint patty/Andes mint without the chocolate, and really hits the spot for sweet and refreshing. Revives the taste buds, but isn't harsh. As mr-e-liquids go, they are all works of art, and I recognize the craft that goes into them, but they aren't all necessarily to my taste.
Try some samples from a few places--3-5 ml to get a feel for the artistry of the vendor...
Good luck!

I steeped that sweet tart liquid for a week, in hot water, top off. Every way I could find. It never smelled right, no where near sweet tarts. While the alien vapor one was spot on. It really showed me what was possible concerning flavors. That's mainly why I'm so let down by this.

dont let it get you down bud. we ALL go through it or went through it. its apart of the learning curve. dont get discouraged. stick to what works. if you get tired of it buy small sample bottles of flavors. see which one works for you, then by the bigger ones. i learned the hard way too. wasted so much cash buyin 30ml bottles of a flavor i never even tasted, then when i got them i hated them. its all apart of the experience my friend.

People liking or not liking a vendor is as equivalent as people liking burgers from Burger King, Wendy's, or McDonald's. If you don't like, it you don't like it. Some people really swear by some vendors that I've tried and didn't like. I suggest with your next order, ordering juices from a few different vendors just in case you run into one you don't like. Just a bottle or two from a few different places.

Some places to try: texasselectvapor, ecblend, jvapes, mountainoakvapors, ..........., etc. There are so many vendors to choose from because not everyone is going to like the same eliquid. I hope you find something that works for you.

My experience when I first began.
When I first began vaping I bought 30 wide ranging samples. Out of those 30 I liked 10. Immediately ordered another 20 and out of those I liked 10…so out 50 different flavors I enjoyed 20. Months later I tried those 30 samples that I disliked and enjoyed all but one. Whether it was because my tastes had changed or they needed steeping I don’t know. Realize also "same name" juices will vary greatly in taste from vendor to vendor as they all have diff recipes and order ingredients from diff Suppliers.

I read this exact article. I guess I thought it would taste close and get better with steeping, not disgusting and get tolerable. The monster bash is debateable, maybe it will be ok in a month. I try my flavors in a Phoenix clone with ss mesh. It's a very crisp vape normally. Whatever flavor was in their sweet tart was masked by a harsh chemical smell and taste that tickled and burned my throat, unlike a good throat hit this would choke me up. However I ordered my wife mint chocolate from mbv and it's spot on, just like a York patty. I ordered bigger bottles of the monster bash, moon dog and sweet tarts, live and learn I guess. I'll steep as required but it should be vapable. I can't wait a month. Thanks for the replies, and even though my experience with mbv has been bad, I'm sure all their flavors are not.

FYI...I always get 2 or 3 extra "flavor shots" when I order from MT. Baker

I got one extra shot. Maybe their foodie/dessert flavors are great but their candy is just their weak point. No idea. Can anyone recommend juicy vapor? Their flavors, like gobstopper, ecto plasma, cherry limeaide, the list goes on.... Their reviews all seem great, whereas mbv's reviews seem mixed with good and no taste/chemical taste. Thanks everyone, I will contact mbv and get some alien vapor overnighted. Love this community by the way.

Unfortunately 1 month after I began I started to DIY my juices cuz I really wasn't all that happy with Vendor juice BUT I would imagine things/ juices have changed. I would "hunt down" someone here that has the same tastes as you. Possibly even start a new thread mentioning the juices you despised. I'm sure you have a twin out there.
Best of Luck and I know it's sometimes tough finding the right juice.
