I've posted a few times on here so this is my introduction plus a question for my fellow vapers.

I'm happy to say I'm about 2 months smoke free! I noticed people at work with their ego t setups and thought I would like to give them a try since I really wanted to quit smoking. I tried everything and nothing had worked for me up to that point. I went to my local vaping store and was really amazed by it. The place was packed with people and the workers were really helpful. I bought my first ego started kit and never went back to smoking! In fact I've already upgraded to an ego c twist and I really like it!

My question is this....at my job they still make us vapers go outside with the smokers. I don't really understand why since there is no smell and vaping causes no problems like second hand smoke. I would think my bosses would be supportive of us who vape since it's so much better for our health. Do your jobs make you go outside with the smokers too?

P.S. This forum is pretty awesome! I'm looking forward to learning more about the wonderful world of vaping!

Did you ask before you did it or were you asked to stop by your boss?? I was 1 of only 4 smokers left at my company. One day I just showed up at work and started vaping at my desk. I got a few looks, but no questions. Until I started using it during meetings... I would just place it on the table at the start of the meeting at first. During a short meeting I may not use it at all. During a long meeting I might use once or twice. Eventually people started asking questions, and I would educate them, but no one ever even suggested that I not use it in the building. I guess I tend to go more with "beg for forgiveness" rather than "ask for permission", but in the end I didn't have to do either!!

My coworkers, none of which smoke, were very supportive and glad that I was not smoking. My boss even brought his smoker girlfriend to our Vape meet and I hooked her up with a starter kit and she loved it. She eventually quit smoking and vaping. I do admit my boss was shocked when he saw my 500 ml of nic base delivered to the office. lol. He wanted to smell it and I had to tell him no! OMG!

Welcome to the ECF Midnight.fairy! It really is up to the bosses if you vape inside/at your desk. If they say take it outside, you really don't want to vape there.. Of course, talking to them and trying to convince them otherwise is perfectly acceptable! (vaping in the restroom is always an option.. shhhhh ;) )

I had no problem where I was working vaping at my desk. I did ensure my coworkers were alright with it 1st.. (converted all the smokers before I left too!).

I actually have not had much of a problem hanging with the smokers. At first I would always vape while they smoked. Now I will often go out just for the conversation and not even vape. Maybe it helps that the cig smell now is one reminder of why I quit.

Thanks for all the replies!

In answer to one of your questions no I never started vaping inside while at work. Its just been a rule for a while so I knew already that I had to go outside. I just dont really understand why its offensive to some people. But oh well.

lack of knowledge about ecigs is probably the biggest reason. I am sure there are some that will debate the safety of ecig vapor also.
