Hi folks,
I came across this forum a few times during my research.. with so many options out there it gets overwhelming. . Jumped in two weeks ago and got a prefilled to try out and I knew this will work for me so I ordered some ego kits from china (just the hardware, didnt trust thier juice).. now have to wait 3 weeks.. but I couldnt wait anymore and knowing i'd probably upgrade in a few weeks i ended up ordering a provari mini starter kit yesterday.. and a second provari for my wife.. I justify the cost to one month supply of analogs.. a pack of 25 is like 10 $ × a pack a day, it adds up.. ill reserve my questions once I get them.. actually why are batteries called mods for almost a week it thought it was a diy lol.. still learning

Get you 5 posts and head over to the provari forum...boy oh boy you went all out and went to the top, you weren't messing around were ya!

Since you are running Provari get good 18350's AW brand, most recommended location for good batteries is RDTVapor

You did good...you will be pleasantly pleased by the Provari from what I hear

Welcome!

Hi emag and welcome to ECF! Sounds like you're well on your way and figuring things out which is great.

The 'mod' thing is a throwback to when e-cig were in their infancy and if you wanted something that worked you had to make (modify) it for yourself. The term stuck and now it's pretty much used for anything that is not a simple e-cig.

Best of luck with vapng and I hope the weather in Montreal is better than here in Ontario right now. Windy is an understatement :thumb:

I'm not sure buying two Provari's right off the bat is something I would have done... They are great devices from what I hear but I would highly recommend doing some research/asking around before making high dollar purchases like that at least until you gain some experience with vaping. I used Ego batteries for the first few months and they worked fine and when I outgrew them I had a great appreciation for my first variable voltage/wattage mod (an iTaste VV V3). If you ever have any questions feel free to drop me a line.

Also, if you crave vaping knowledge go to youtube and check out GrimmGreen and PBusardo's channels. They are the equivalent of vaping celebrities and they have always steered me in the right direction.

Welcome to ecf.
You will love the provari. War is correct ---went straight to the top, zoomed right past go. LOL

What did you order from fasttech?

:)
Really won't matter...once he starts rocking his Provari..anything he gets in vapemail will be 2nd class or lower, ESPECIALLY if it's coming in from FT...probably won't even bother to open it...heh

At least he has a backup for his main rig

between here and there
Their kit comes with 2 18350aw with charger and protank2.. I went a bit overboard got the extension caps and a bigger battery a 5 pack piece for the protank. I already have the juice but nothing to use it with.. .

Is there an ecig shop close to you? You could always go and look at what they have available. But, then again, Provape ships really fast.

:)

emag, I think you made a good choice. Starting with good equipment is important, I think. Now you already have your primary and a decent back-up. And, I think having a back-up is important since it keeps you from sliding back into analogs when problems develop. I would suggest you find a local B&M since they will be able to bring you up to speed on your new devices. Have fun!

I totally see your point and respect what you are saying about starting up, however I did want to jump in and say that when I went in the local vape store here in my town, the staff didn't want to sell me something that they knew could hinder my goals. For me it was about performance. Everyone is different in that reguards. I was sold an MVP 2.0 and I bought a smok winder on day one. Why? Because I wanted the best vaping experience I could get right out of the gate so that I could make an honest assessment. End result? After one week of being a total newb to vaping and a 2 1/2 PAD smoker, I am analog free and I give these devices a lot of credit.(and the store clerks)

In addition I can see myself becoming a total MOD guy in a matter of months. I am already eyeballing the cavelas...without vv/vw I am not so sure I would be singing the same tune. Again, everyones different.

    My two cents....

    Emag do you play paintball?

I'm about to order me a provari but I want the mini LE edition and want to make sure its in stock. From what I understand it is a justifiable purchase.

The zombie edition? Nice.. basically I wanted a consistant and reliable device and didnt wanb to go through "upgrading" and should of kinda thing.. also wanted to keep it simple enough for a newb.. making the swich from regular smoking is justified enough for me.. yes my cc is maxed but hopefully the savings will be able to repay it (plus overtime :) )
I got the black mini for myself and the silver for the wife and extension cap for each
Paintball.. gone twice a few years back.. ill need a few months to let my lungs clear before I start running in the bush..lol

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. LOL. From Caddywhomous's comment, he has never had a Provari and that's to bad. :( I myself do have two of them (well, one belongs to my wife). They are wonderful mods and being made right here in Washington is a big plus!!

You mentioned Cavelas? did you mean Caravelas? or vela for short. If so....good luck! They are very hard to get and VERY expensive, but absolutely stunning mods. I think you are quite safe setting your goals a little lower there. There are soooo many beautiful and very well designed mechanical mods out there. Take a look through the forums, there's no shortage of pictures to drool over.

That being said...mechanicals are a completely different breed from VV/VW devices and your vaping knowledge must mature when going that route. They can be dangerous and frustrating if you don't know what your doing with them. I don't mean to scare you away from them, but learn as much as you can before going that way, especially if you plan on building your own coils on RBA tanks.

They are indeed justifiable! I myself use an assortment of mechs, but always carry my Provari in my vape box.
