I have been a member of ECF for little over a week now and i have to say, i have learned a lot about Ecigs in a short time, just by reading the content of this fine forum.
I have smoked for 21 years, non stop, a pack a day on normal days, yes including the times when i was sick as a dog with a cold or a flu, looking back and adding some numbers, that's pretty impressive or should i say pretty stupid? But what can i say? nicotine is a beautiful mother of a chemical, i never even bothered trying to quit since i never really had any cigarrette related illness other than the sporadic throat itch in the middle of the night, congestion here and there and of course the reeky hands and breath i had to battle with daily.
In the last 5-10 years a group of tobacco hating zealots has done everything in their power to make the average smoker's life a living hell of guilt, not being able to smoke almost anywhere in public (at least in the US and in some states worse than others) i was always what i like to call a polite smoker anyway, never blew smoke in anyone's face, always asked before lighting one up, never smoked inside other people's homes or cars nor my own house. Even with all the regulations, social stigma and obvious health concerns, i didn't think i was ready to even try quitting or an alternative to tobacco products. All that changed when my cousin called me a little over two weeks ago and told me how he had quit smoking cigarettes the same day he got his ecig in the mail a month before, i have heard a lot about ecigs already but i hadn't really had time to sit down and read about it online, coming from a relative i knew smoked almost as much as me, i knew i had to do some research.
Long story short, i did some reading and then some more and then a bit more just to be sure and proceeded to order a Joye 510 from cignot, that was Friday night, Monday morning i was unpacking it, fresh out of the mailbox as i finished my morning analog with coffee, that was my last analog that day and i concentrated on testing this amazing little toy, which tasted a bit crappy at first, until i got past the factory primer on the atty, the next day was the real test of efficacy for the 510 and it delivered like i had no clue.
The bottom line is, ecigs do work and i'm tobacco free 100% and plan on staying that way, i tried analogs twice since i've been vaping, just to see if i was missing something and for comparison, oh boy do they taste like crap, i can smell again, i can taste foods like i used to 21 years ago and i don't have to carry a box of mints in my pocket so i don't smell like an ashtray.
