Intro to Vaping

Okay.. I copied the code from the "embed" box on Viddler.. can someone tell me how to fix this crap so it shows?

Nevermind... just click here... Viddler.com - - Uploaded by Spikey47

This is a video on Learning the basics of E-smoking (vaping). Probably not much stuff of interest to the regulars... but some good stuff for newbies. It is over an hour long (and that is after I cut some parts out!) and I even forgot some things.

Important things I forgot...

-CHARGING THE FIRST TIME- These products are made in China! Disregard what the manual says. Disregard the "led indicator light" on your charger (switches from red to green supposedly when fully charged). For almost all e-cigs... charge each battery 10-12 hours before using the first time! The green light goes on when it feels like it.. not when it is done!!! After that... charge for 4 hours minimum each time you charge them. Time is different with the USB charger. Look up times on the boards... I am not sure how long they take. I think it depends on the brand.

-When using a USB passthrough or charger... do not plug into a USB hub... will not get the same power... plug directly into USB port in the computer!

-Primer Puff = when you take a quick pull on the e-cig to heat up the atomizer so you get more vapor (not usually necc with the 401, but pen style, 901 and supermini it is supposed to help).

-WASH breath mint containers thoroughly in hot water (including the dropper top!) before filling with e-liquid or it will taste minty!!!

-Forgot to mention starter kit comes with a charger.

-VG side effects may be diff from PG side effects... read boards for more info,

-Paperclip used to fill cart and get more liquid is around 17:30 on the video if you want to see just that part.

I smoked analogs (regular cigarettes) for 20 years and was able to give them up in less than 2 weeks with the e-cig... but it is not for everyone. It does take patience and time to get used to it.

Awesome Spikey! I was just needing this exact type of video to send to my brother. You explain everything in a frank and easy going way he'll appreciate. I was worried about sending a pack of papers with varied instructions along with an e-cigarette. Now *that* would have been intimidating to someone already uncertain about it.

Sunshyn-
I was actually just about to make a dvd of this video for my partner's aunt who is 60 and can barely use a computer let alone a DVD player. I am going to try to do another of this video (though a little better organized and including the things I forgot). If anyone wants a copy on DVD to send to a friend/family member who you are gettign e-cigs for I am happy to try to make a copy for you if you want to just pay shipping. I just want to do a slightly better one (not at 3am and when I don't look like crap) if I am going to offer to send it to people. I hope it works out for your brother and he has patience for it! I am going to order oen for my brother soon too! Good luck :)

I checked this out a couple of hours ago, and I didn't watch the whole video at first but the paperclip tip seems like it would be helpful when I start using e-liquid. After finishing watching the hole thing now though it sounds very informative and you seem to touch on just about everything. From now on when I'm trying to introduce someone to e-cigs this will be the first thing I show them.

EDIT: Spikey, check your PMs please.

Spikey.... I watched your video and must confess, strayed over to your other site... I'm weak.

The video was great and very informative; answered a lot of questions I still had. Thank you for putting it up.

My sister is watching it now. We are both new and waiting for our vapo-matics to arrive.

Regarding your embed question: This is a forum based on vbulletin software and they do not recommend allowing html code (which is embedding code) be placed in posts due to security reasons. I'd suspect that the feature is turned off here as in most forums.

The best you can do is post the link...

Thanks again for taking the time... on both...

I ordered the Pilot today...

Nice post thanks for all the info, you've basically saved me a ton of time. I would suggest you drop the poisonous bit though, you should just mention it's "not recommended" and should be handled with care. Considering how anti-everything people are just looking to find something wrong with this I think it would just be wiser and safer for the community at large. Personally I've gotten e-juice from the cartridges on me and haven't been affected. Again thanks for the info.

I was careful about the poisonous mostly for care of use. People need to know that you should be careful with a syringe of it or if they spill it arounds kids or pets or get too much in their mouth or anythin like that. I am re-doing the video though in a more organized fashion... so I will dull it down a little with a printed screen warning that says to have caution when handling it.

Thanks for the suggestions and comments :)

Will you keep the other available? I liked the laid back feel and bits of humor. Unfortunately, the things I find humorous are probably what is likely to offend more mainstream or vanilla types.

I will prob just add a link to the new one in the same post so people can watch either... but it may not make sense since they will both have the same info. I will surely leave it online.. but may take the link and change it to the new one. Will see... Glad you enjoy a little of My dementia tho :) lol!

lol - a hour would be pushing it for me - any chance of breakin' that down to minutes - I figure a 5 minute lashing would be about $25 with the 5% Leaford discount that would be $23.75 :) .

I'm just kiddin with ya!

Or am I? :)

Shame it is a 1 hour minimum :) No one who can't afford the full hour should be doing sessions... because this is an expensive habit and it is not right to put people in debt by letting them spend $ on things they cannot afford (although I give a hefty discount to firefighters and police officers cause city pay sucks lol!).

Well.. realistically.. I need to do 2 or 3 extra one hour sessions a week to cover my e-cig habit if I want to start trying new devices... so I guess I better get back to My email!!! :)
