Anyone know how long it would take to get a standard titanium? Is there a long wait for any model?

nobody knows yet until they get current orders out which is 100+ i would guess it will be end of the year if lucky holidays always is a stop work or slowdown unless your shopping at walmart

Order: #1985
Standard Titanium,
Top: 22mm 510 only.
Bottom: flat cap

Originally I ordered 22mm 510+eGo Inclined, But I emailed Jon and asked to change my order to the 22mm 510-Only top cap when I found out that top caps would not be swappable in the future. I'd already paid the extra for the 22mm 510+eGo so he replied a few minutes later and said sure, it wasn't a problem. I didn't receive any kind of updated invoice, so I hope I do get the smaller 510 only.

Before reading this, keep in mind that this is what has been communicated to me by Jon of NexGen via email. I am in no way affiliated with this company, nor do I have a telepathic connection to them.

Now that the disclaimer is out of the way, I wanted to let the forum know that I was contacted by Jon regarding some questions that I had sent to him regarding my order. The funny thing is that he was replying to contact form I entered via their website a couple of weeks ago before I actually placed my order.

I asked him if I could pass some of his responses on to the forum verbatim, and not only did he say that it would be ok, he actually encouraged me to to do so. With that being said, here are the responses that I received in a multi-email conversation with Jon of NexGen.

1. Regarding why he has not been responding to emails or the forum - He said he has been going "crazy trying to get everything done" and hasn't "checked (his) email for the last three days or so". He has be "been living at the shop".
2. Regarding when the unit will ship - He has told me that "if your unit's a black or titanium it should go out next week." As we all know they "had to recall some for faulty 510 connectors. That's fixed now, and we're just waiting on the inclined caps to be done, which we expect on Monday. Other colors will come in next week as well." In a later email he re-affirmed that "titanium and black should be going out again next week, other colors to follow as soon as we receive them."
3. Regarding what was mentioned as a problem with the quality of the paint. He said that "the paint isn't a problem, getting them through the mail to the painter is."
4. Regarding the quality of the rockers and in response to my question about reports that the rockers were arriving scratched he said "the rockers are perfect".
5. Regarding a question I had regarding whether my order was likely to have a deficient 510 connector he said "the connectors are fixed".

My order number is 2023. I have ordered 1 unit, graphite black, slanted 510 only top cap, flat bottom. My order is shipping to Canada.

After receiving his response I am much more happy to give Jon and his company the benefit of the doubt (at least for a couple of weeks). It seems like they are hard at work trying to get the units out. It appears to me as though one of the major bottle necks in their manufacturing process is that the finishing is being done out of house, by Cerakote, therfore it seems that the shipping times are somewhat color dependent. Additionally the mis-threaded 510 connectors only hindered their initial deployment efforts (the old monkey wrench in the %^#).

I told Jon that in the end the quality of the product is what people will remember most, and as long as I am properly informed, that I would rather wait an extra week and get a perfect mod (or at least a mod which meets/exceeds the quality I expected when I ordered it). I think most of us echo this sentiment.

Any way, just wanted everyone to know and hopefully get a bit of the warm fuzzy feeling that i got as I read his responses.:vapor:

Anyone know what kind of wee magnets we should get to get flatter topped batts to work? Might as well get those lined up too. I love my MNKEs

please dont use magnets that is an accident waiting to happen i would not like to hear about you getting hurt or destroying your mod the DNA is already a battery sensitive chip just buy some aw imr batts if you happen to drop that mod and the magnet shifts to the side of the mod it will blow i promise and after spending 250+ i cant seem to wrap my head around that one if your that short on funds i replaced my aw's late this summer i would send you my old one's than to see you blow up your brand new baby

PBusardo's Wizard Evolved video shows the Futura in a mod lineup. It's shorter than Vamo which is the APV I'm using now so I'm fine with it's height. You can always run 18490/500 or 18350s if length is a problem.

I'm pretty sure they are not shipping them in a walmart bag...

:D just kiding about wallmart bag:D just ben looking at busardo, the height is just fine, im using a vamo now, When i need smaller i use my drawtube, i quess im like everybody else.....What is the English Word...quirious? But im shure this is a good and solid mod

The futura came in a case similar to the one the lavatube used to come in. Here are a couple pics..... not great quality but all I have.

I didn't realize i gave the impression that my motivation to purchasing magnets to use other safe chemistry batteries was out of desperation from lack of funds. I have somewhere around 10 AW IMR 18650's both 2000 & 1600 mAh & about the same # of AW IMR 18490's & 18350's. I'm in no shortage of them. I'm not going to bother buying magnets until I can see the layout of the upper contact of the futura's battery chamber. IF it's recessed and I can find a magnet to fit perfectly then I may consider it as it would eliminate the possibility of it sliding out of place & shorting but it's by no means of paramount importance for me as I have no shortage of the recommended AWs. I do not own nor would I purchase any batteries that don't have safe chemistry thereby significantly either reducing or eliminating the potential of a battery actually blowing up. And I'm obviously not by any means eager to fry my DNA chip either.

In all likelihood I'll probably use only AWs in this and save other batts with flatter tops for mechanical devices.

I've made countless posts to mostly new vapers that haven't done their homework & aren't aware of risks & safety measures & vape below 0.3ohm atty set-ups & I often recommend use of a fuse which very well may serve the purpose of the magnet I was referring to here while keeping it perfectly in place due to its disk-shaped body & cannot slide out of place along with the added benefit of cutting out power if a short were to somehow occur. I never blindly take action without researching the hell out of it. That said I agree with you 100%. :)

Hmm, I got a magnet in mine now. The top post is well insulated and the battery is stuck tightly to it. I can't imagine the tiny magnet shifting to any location where it would create a short. It's too small too bridge the gap. You made me think of the flash memory though and that is magnet sensitive. Nothing has happened yet but...I did replace it with a button top. I will just cycle my button tops for this mod and keep the rest available for all my other devices. I'll just use the magnets for my mechanical switches.

Per above post, I also have fuses which would fit the bill so there are options in case I have to use a flat top.

Oh yeah. I am loving this mod...
