ok, so just watched the review.
the only thing that bothers me a bit, is the part when he "blew" into the mod.
i was planning on getting the device, but now i'm a little on the fence. i don't want juice getting into my mod and causing issues.

anybody experience a problem with that??
does leftcoastvaper have anything to say about that??
dont use leaky cheap protanks maybe?

not trying to be an a**, personally i dont have anything that would leak through the 510 connector. but i can feel a slight pressure drop if i blow into it but it is still very tight.
maybe replacing the oring with something a little fatter or a delrin ring would help.
i just really cant fathom someone paying this kind of money to run simple 3 dollar 510 dripping attys though.

watching Phil he really had a hard time finding things to thumbs down on.

just tried it on mine. the amount of air is quite minimal. you'd have to have a lot of leaking going on over a long period of time (years) to get a problem. my kayfun does not leak, so no problem here.

now, not being able to instal iOS7 on the futura is a real problem. I'd like to be able to just say: "siri, babe, pump up the wattage to toasty", and have siri reply, "master, your cotton is getting dry, let it wick for a moment, do you want to hear a joke?"

A few times when I have switched out a fresh battery I noticed there was a few drops of juice on the end of my battery. I just wiped it off and didn't think anything about it. After seeing this I unscrewed the head unit and there is a few drops of juice on the connector. I just wiped it off and will make sure and keep the connectors wiped each time I mess with my carto. I use standard boge carto/ tank setup.

The Futura comes with an optional ego connection and I don't know of any high end ego style atomizers out there (are there any?), so it is obviously designed to work with any type including the cheap ones.

Maybe this is something that can be addressed with a simple o-ring replacement (wider/fatter), but it is the responsibility of the manufacturer and not the end user (if it is in fact an issue). I do see these type of minor things being addressed in future versions however.

I am planning to use mine with a kayfun or similar device for the most part so this won't bother me either... :)

rounding third and heading home...
phil left out one of the most important features IMHO- the weight! he usually makes such a big deal of pulling out the scale and comparing devices. i would like to see the weight difference between the futura and the steel mods. the futura looks just as tough and yet is probably much lighter(a plus in my book)......

This is only on the 510-only top cap. The others don't have that "issue," if you want to call it that. Fact is, the internals are sealed off from any juice leaking into the device so it won't affect performance at all. And, if in the extremely unlikely case it does, send it back and we'll repair or replace it.

I'd be amazed and astounded if juice could leak through to the battery. There's almost no way it could get around all the seals and come out at that point. But... I'll do some stress testing and see if we can duplicate this phenomenon.

Just watched pbusardos review and I kinda disagree with him. Only because I feel my futura is different from his production model. First off, iv covered the top with my mouth and blew and lol sucked and I feel no pressure what so ever escaping or going in the top of the futura. It's totally sealed, I have the 510 only 22mm top cap. My buttons are not as sensitive as he is showing, there hard to explain. He makes it seem like the buttons will activate in your pocket. Iv carried it all day in jeans and in shorts, never fired or changed wattage on me. To me the fire button is easy to find. Grab it as you would, pointy finger for the trigger and thumb resting on the screen cut out. It lines up perfect. Try it the opposite way pointy finger on the screen cut out and your thumb to fire, lines up good too. Close your eyes and try it, you'll find the fire button real fast. His just doesn't seem right compared to mine and even looks, Jon did you guys just slap one together to get it out to him in a hurry?? These are just my opinions there like a.. Holes, everybody's got one.

His unit was one of the first production models. We've since changed the rocker a bit (not so easy to activate accidentally) and used a different o-ring sealer in the top. We're still experimenting with the best system for keeping juice out of the internals, but as I said in my previous post this *might* be an issue with the 510-only cap. Not with the others. In any case, the electronics are well protected from any leaks.

Btw, the inclined Ego-510 caps are 22mm at the top, not 21 like he says in the video. The contoured cap is 21.

Been a passive reader on this thread after ordering mine futura...

But what you said there about shipping is almost like a mirror image of mine.

Jon, I would love to have an update on what is the progress of this backlog. I dealt with customer everyday, and it is important for me to set their expectation right. So I am expecting you to set mine right too, I won't mention the countless next week stuff.

Received this reply on the 7th "Right. That's in the next wave which we're starting on Monday. We've been shipping every other day now, so you're up next.
Jon"

Apparently as stated my order was next but i still have not received shipping notice. I guess things are not as smooth sailing still. Its funny though, every time i get on a waiting list i get emails like this and i believe them each and every time. I also still get shocked when they inevitably do not come through. Ow and originally i contacted them with the wrong order number, it was 2 orders after mine and apparently (as i was told) it shipped on the 2nd - so they are definitely not shipping in order of first come first served (both the order numbers i gave him apparently had the same specs as well). Would love an update soon, and some idea of what is going, I did email the other day and have not gotten a reply either.

We're shipping out about 20 every other day right now. That will increase to 40 by the end of the week. We've pretty much got a handle on production now, so everyone should receive tracking numbers in the next couple of weeks.

Ahh another Aussie! I think they have a special section for us Australians and our orders - we get sent to the "you're up next" pile, which is under that wobbly bench leg.

there's many high end atty's that get their air through the 510, not just protanks... Divers, Sophia's, Oddy's. just to name a few :)
well good to know, never used any of these. i dont think I have used a bottom feed atty in about a year.

about the ego connection, yea,,,
have you seen the crying over provari not having one. even if i made a 900 dollar mod i would offer it just to avoid that lol

Some gratuitous Futura porn :D

I saw PBusardo's review and have a question about his statement that you can only use nipple top batteries. I have been dreaming about ordering one but all my batteries are flat top gray or green Panasonics. Is he wrong (hopefully)?

I really want to order one but the battery issue might be a dealbreaker.

Thank you Jon, I have a better grasp on the current output capabilities. I ordered mine as soon as the status on website changed to "in stock" and that put me in the 2000 range, I know that many who are in the 1000 range have not receive futura yet. So looking at this, are you able to give me a gauge on when mine is going to be shipped in "few days" or "few weeks" timeframe.

I really need to know that as I have few decisions to make for example, buy another mod while waiting, or just wait a few more days. I jus5 started my ecig journey and I don't have any proper mod except rgo twist and some protank and that does not satisfy me at all...

Thank you.

He is not wrong. It's a safety feature which prevents the board from frying. There are, of course, ways to defeat this but I'm not gonna tell you how. I'm sure others will, though. However, if you return one with a still smoking board we won't warranty it.
