Thanks for your suggestion Muzichead.

While I understand your concern, I feel I would be doing people a favor by offering two different choices prior to payment. For example, let's say someone paid and got my first mod and then I released the second one a short while later, and they like the second one more... you know what I mean?

The second one is also a bottom feeding mod, but has a few interesting innovations. A prototype will be out in early Oct and I will post it so it will not take too much time. On balance, I feel this is the best approach to take in the interest of you guys.
Hey Paul what's the approximate price on the second mod that you're tantalizing us with..... dna 30 bottom feeder possibly?? Any preliminary pics? I'm getting ahead of myself, I know. I really want to see the first mod in my hands but I'd be really interested in purchasing my first DNA30 + Bottom feeder!

It will be reasonably priced, like everything I come up with. But I prefer not to talk further about the other mod until I open a thread dedicated to that.

Have you ever tried to bottom feeder before? It seems you don't currently have a bottom feeder in your arsenal. Once you become a bottom feeder, you never want to go back to anything else. The thing about bottom feeder is that you will get a great vape even if it doesn't fancy electronics like the DNA30. You simply find your sweet spot by varying the resistance of your coil. Many folks want their thing to be mechanical for added reliability. That's why when I'm designing that regulator for my mod, I make sure it can be converted back to a mechanical version, because with electronics there is always a chance that it might fail.

Gotcha Ok yeah that makes sense..... And no I've always wanted a bottom feeder but just never pulled the trigger..... My setup is a hexohm okr-t10 with the magma..... Stingray infinite with authentic tobh.... So those are just the 2 elements (dna/bf) that I'm currently interested in ... But yeah I've heard great things about the Reo.... And pdibs oliveR (I'm on the 15 mo waiting list ) hopefully your mod while start me on my journey.

I've only the Reo, and yes it is the best vaping experience i've had. Dripping without the inconveniences and with all the advantages.

Yep, I accidentally discovered "dripping" when I was playing with my Vivi Nova clearomizer when I was a novice. I felt inadequte amount of juice was being wicked to the coil so I cut open a small notch in the silicone cap in the atty head. Juice can literally start pouring in if I tilted it a certain away, it'll sometimes lead to flooding if I'm not careful, but it didn't take long for me to discover that the flavor was unbeatable.

I'm totally convinced that level of juice saturation in the wick is what makes dripping different from other methods. When I use my bottom feeder, I squonk every hit. This might seem excessive for lots of vapers, but I feel a freshly wicked coil gives off the best flavor.

Is it a pain dialing in your ohms to the mechanical aspect? I rarely go over 25 watts with my Hexohm 75 watt box but it's nice to tailor your mod to your atty..... Like right now, I built my Tobh too low (for me) .40 ohms and it's a little too hard of a vape having to take baby hits to getting dry hits and dripping every 2 or 3 hits .... That's why I enjoy regulated. If I put the tobh on the hexohm I just turn the potentiometer down a bit and I'm good to go. So, it really doesn't matter what build I throw on the hexohm I can adjust it to my liking! But don't get me wrong I want a bottom feeder and if it's mechanical so be it as long as the VL is in check that's cool. I'll just have to pay attention to my builds ..... Dripping is soo cumbersome and stupid!

It's safe to say that bottom feeders are at the top of the food chain in the vaping world, no?
It's actually an exclusive elevator behind a velvet rope atop the food chain...

Lots of people don't know about em and lots of others have next tried them.

I agree with your statement on wick saturation, I've been dropping a lot the last few weeks, trying new attys, deciding on the next one in going to modify to bf... And I am always over dripping, trying to keep that wick saturated like I do with my feeder. Feeders are definitely the best.

I've only been coiling since June, so I'm no expert. As a matter of fact I am still at the experimental stage. I found my sweet spot at around 0.8 ohms without difficulties.

I like the look and will watch for this!

On the atty, you're going to have a lot of differing preferences -
I don't like big airflow (my Cyclone AFC is sitting while I use the standard cap), but a LOT of people do.
I'm kinda happy with a single coil, cuz it gets the job done with half the effort, but a LOT of people want to run duals.

So - if you're going to release an atty, that's AWESOME, but I wouldn't compromise the mods ability to handle a variety of different ones.

Speaking of which - what's the "depth" or thickness of the mod?
I'm curious about 22mm atty "overhang" - it's one of those things that just bugs me!
(for instance, I have a Magma sitting, that I never BF'd for my REO, cuz it doesn't fit the way I'd want it to).

Hey Paul!
I stayed up way past my bedtime last night reading through this thread. It's a very handsome device! Just as impressive is your approach to design, attention to detail and your communication with future owners. Form following function, man! Well done.

Thank for the compliment.

Wow, didn't see it until now. Looks great. The guy who did it is an ECF member, there is a thread about it.
I know it's a realllllly long thread! It's a diy project...... I wish there was a complete kit available to order. Because at this point it's been available on shapeways for a while and you just have to order what you see (knowing me I'd miss parts). Wires and internal items aside, from the internal framing. I just ordered the Dna30 once it gets here, I'll concentrate on ordering the rest. I'm excited to use my new soldering station.
