Introducing myself & advice needed on copper wire amp ratings

Hello folks. I've been lurking the forum for a long time and have found some really great advice. I'm a cloud chasing vape lover and juice chef and plan to build my own box mod soon. I'm looking for advice on wires for my desired build (a dual 18650 parallel able to handle up to 60a) as I'm unsure what sort of amp ratings copper wire can handle in the context of a box mod.

Google is suggesting that I need 4-5 awg copper wire to be able to push a maximum of 60a, but I'm guessing this is massively overkill. I'm interested to know what some of you guys use in your own builds.

I understand that I'm more likely to find the answers I need once I'm able to post in the correct forum, but any help you guys can give would be greatly appreciated.

How long have you been interested in building mods?

About a week! I've been vaping for a couple of months and I feel like I'm advancing fast. I've got a pretty good knowledge of battery safety and basic electronics, my dad is an electrician by trade so I've got a superb teacher. I'm eager to get my hands dirty and build my own mod in the next month or so.

Is your name one of the flavors your cooked up?

Fantastic, this is exactly what I needed to know.

I'm well aware of the difference with pulse and continuous on batteries and was unsure if it was the same story for copper wiring, but this confirms my suspicions that it's a similar story for both.

I don't just buy all my flavors from one flavoring company. I primarily use Flavor Arts but there are some flavors that TFA/Inawera/Hangsen/Capella and others do better (and better/best is subjective depending on what you like). I've actually been lurking those forums for several weeks, the amount of information I've been absorbing from ECF over the last couple of months is insane.

Thanks for taking the time to put all those links in one place, I'll certainly be back to reference this thread in the next few days when I mix up my next batch with the latest bunch of concentrates I ordered yesterday!

My focus at the moment is on flavour enhancers. I recently invested in some saline, apple cider vinegar, white vinegar, ethyl maltol, citric acid and malic acid to further enhance the rather ridiculous number of concentrates I've purchased over the last few weeks. I'll be seeking out advice on proper balances of said additives for sure.

I'll certainly share some of my recipes too. I'm a big fan of sweet and/or sour fruits and would like to perfect some Jolly Rancher style flavours.

I've been advised to go with 14awg so I'm going to do a little bit more digging and will probably go with that. It's rated for 30a continuous I believe so hopefully that will be enough as I don't intend to build much lower than 0.1ohm.

When it's finished, I expect a full report!

I'll post my recipe I promise! So far it needs something to make it pop, I'm hoping the vinegar and malic acid will give it the kick it needs!
