Has any one else managed to destroy the insulator on the center post, besides me? I guess I screwed the first knurled nut on too tight and the top portion of the insulator tore from the part that fits inside.

Gormly, are there any replacements for this or do I need to 'roll my own'?

Not yet, I asked and they do not have "any to spare right now"
I got most of the other parts but not that one :(

A tip for Griffin owners. In your kit there are 2 tube washers for the center pin that slides up center one for each end to keep it from making contact with the tank body. In my kit 1 had the top ring off the tube and the other was tore about to come off. I was afraid I was not going to be able to use it until I could order more, then I went to my parts box. I always save a few parts off thing I might be able to use later and I had saved some old cartomizers.

Pull the center pin . out carefully do not rip the tube washer, with pin out push the tube washer carefully up into the cartomizer and pull out .. from the top cut tube washer from bottom it is glued to the wicking tube so don't pull it cut it. Anyway it saved me and I am now enjoying my GRIFFIN. Can't wait to grab a few more.

Ok, so I managed to destroy the insulator and, for now, no replacements.

Here's how I fixed the problem. I thought about how I might be able to fashion one out of something I had laying about. (BTW, don't throw anything out - it may get you on an episode of Hoarders, but you will still be able to vape!)

Since I had already made a couple of tanks out of an old 12mm syringe, the tip seemed like a close match. I cut the tip off from the main body leaving a bit of the larger portiion still there. The center hole is a bit smaller than the Griffin post, but you can use a drill bit to ream it out some.

The outside diameter of the tip is also a bit larger than the hole in the top of the Griffin - just keep pushing it in, the plastic will eventually shed off until you get it to fit. Or you could probably sand it down.

I turned down the portion where the tip meets the body to about the same size as the top of the original insulator and sanded the end down, so it looks about the same but is much stiffer. I like that because you don't have to worry about torquing the knurled nut down - it won't tear! I also used a tiny washer before I put the knurled nut on.

This will probably not work for the battery end since the post is fatter and you need some flexibilty in the insulator to work. Use an old carto insulator for this end.
