I think the 1.2 firmware might be bad. It's saying either that or Atomizer Short seemingly randomly. I can fire it and it'll say "Atomizer Short", then fire it again and it will go without issue.

If I may offer assistance... what are you using for your Atomizer? Some earlier Vivi Nova tanks had a (+) post that needed occasional adjustment. Maybe if you check your 510 connector, you'd find the problem.

Could be juice on/in it. Could need to be adjusted. I certainly hope for your sake that it's not something with the Firmware!!!

Hope that helps. :)

Thanks. I've tried Vivi Nova, 510 cartos, CE4+ clearos, even a X6 Clearomizer. It won't fire at all now. I have a ticket in with the vendor since I just got it on the 19th. I'm pretty sure the control head is bad.

I sent an e-mail to eVic to ask them if they had a protected circuit, or did I have to use a protected battery. Here was the answer!

Dear friend:

Thanks for your email.

Our batter core for eVic is 18650, and kindly please use our dedicated battery. eVic is tested on the base of our dedicated battery, and if others are used, unnecessary problems may occur.

More battery information, please visit the page: Joyetech eVic starter Kits, Vapor Intelligent Cigarette

Hope this can help you, and if any other query, please feel free to tell us.

Best Wishes

Nice. ..Looks to me like they didn't answer your question.

Chris (at GotVapes) has been looking into the "Protection" question I asked him, and he said the same thing - that this Battery Chemistry is supposed to be different - better, but he's still scratching his head about the Protection.

Why couldn't Joyetech give a direct answer to a direct question?

And if this Sanyo 18650B (and/or the Pink 2600 mAh Sanyo 18650) are "Different/Better Chemistry," then why does the 3400 have the same Green Wrapper as the Original Panasonic, and that same Part Number on the Label?

This is why Chris is looking into it for us. He has better resources than we do. He told me that you can tell better when you have one in your hand, and can compare them side by side. So I'll wait to see what he comes back with, and I'll share that with you guys.
Thanks for the post!!! :toast:

I e-mailed them about that a while back too and the service rep said the eVics are fully protected against short-circuits. However batteries were not discussed.

I found these. Had to get one for the short times.
JoyeTech 18350 mod tube

Do yo have a Battery that fits properly and works? Guess we'll have to wait for your reply after you get your Tubes. The only 18350 Battery I saw at Vapor Kings was a Button Top, which prolly won't fit.

Yah, my eVic is dead, effectively. Just gives the atomizer short message, no matter what I put on it.

And the vendor hasn't responded to two support requests.

Dang it, brother,

W T F ? ? ? They really need to respond to your problem and either give you a new one, or Refund your Money.
Down side of a Refund is having to find another Vendor. Down sire altogether is having to be without it.

Semper Fi, and all that. I'm ex-Navy. Two enlistments. Viet Nam Era. Bad News. They better get on the ball!!!

These things were made to be Updated. Seriously doubt you did anything wrong with the new Firmware.

Try calling, instead of email or Support Ticket.

Yah, that'll be my next step. I entered a support ticket. Waited 24 hours. Sent an email. Waited 24 hours. This AM, I posted on their facebook page. I'll give them 24 hours. Next step is calling them.

I updated the firmware and it ran just fine over a weekend. It started acting up a bit on Sunday. By Monday it was fubared.

I hope you get it straightened out. If they don't respond, it doesn't look good for them. I have an eVic, and hope it doesn't go south on me.

My biggest complain so far is the eVic doesn't function as a pass-through. I was really disappointed to find that out. I was also disappointed to see the one that broke to pieces when it fell on a carpeted floor. I was going to ask if the floor was a concrete slab, but I'm not going to chase down that post.

Not to steal the thread, but customer service is just as important as the device itself. My next purchase, a Provari. They stand behind their product.
