I was saying that it would be about as fully constituted as you can get and it would look just like the original juice.

That may very well be the case. I'll take your word for it. :)

Well, I finished the gurgling tank and took it apart for cleaning. I took the head apart and found 3 "flavor" wicks on there and took one out. The little vent tube on the head took some force to snap out and back in. I did not dry burn. Filled up with Flux Rampage and after some 0.5ml it has been vaping very good again without gurgling. Unfortunately I changed two variables, one less wick and now 70% PG juice instead of 100% VG (ran out). I suspect the wick will be the issue as badkolo had already mentioned this. I just don't understand how the extra wick can cause both dry hits and flooding. Man, this Rampage is tasting good. I was missing it and the Hush too. Hope my allergy rash doesn't flare up again.

orbach,

badkola was saying that for thicker e-juice, you can remove a wick to address not getting enough e-liquid like keyboard fool was having an issue with... he did give a couple of e-liquid examples that it had helped with in his experience but he didn't mention doing this for flooding though so I suspect you misread that portion

Of course that leaves the theory that what was causing your gurgling wasn't flooding but condensation instead... If it were condensation, then pulling the wick won't help ( or hurt ). It was suggested that the sputtering you were experiencing may have been caused by added distilled water in order to help thin the 100% VG since that is a common practice.

I think switching to another e-liquid would still ( whether you had ran out or not ) have been a good logical step to see if the condensation ( if that is what it was ) was the cause of what you experienced or not...

Sorry for the confusion rdsok. I didn't mean to say badkolo had recommended removing a wick for flooding. I knew he had recommended it for dry burns so I deduced removing a wick would NOT work for flooding. But so far without the wick and the 70% PG juice it is working magnificently. The first time it started to gurgle it was after driving in the car for 20 mins or so with it in the case. I just did the same and it is still vaping good, which is a good sign. I'll try it again with 100% VG juice when I get it on Saturday and we'll know if the juice or the wick did the trick. If it's the wick, we'll have a new slogan: "The Wick Does The Trick". :p

Thanks for your help rdsok and everyone!! Vaping away...:vapor:

nathriika, I thought of that and did vape for a while drawing very gently with no difference. I do tend to draw hard but am doing that now with no gurgling. I also tried vaping at much lower voltages just in case the sputtering could be reduced and it was reduced but it gurgled anyway. This is when I noticed much less juice accumulation in the drip tip well and concluded this accumulation was due to the sizzling and not condensation. I will run an experiment eventually to see how vapor condenses in a cold tube.

rdsok, blowing out works to clear the occasional gurgling but not in this case. I tried blowing out numerous times and it gurgled again after a few draws. I would just waste too much liquid if I had to rely on blowing out. I agree it is interesting to know if the wicks actually solved the flooding. This would mean removing a wick addresses BOTH over-wicking and under-wicking, which is definitely not intuitive at all. And I will get around to the condensation issue to see how vapor condenses back into liquid and what it looks and tastes like. We'll cross this bridge later.

orbach a question .. how hard are you vaping on it..i notice on mine if you take too hard of a draw it whistles ..maybe you're taking too hard of a draw and its actually sucking liquid into the air tube?

Now we don't want to hear in the news that someone in Florida was busted for making moonshine... :D

I might suggest in your tests... if you have an e-liquid that you like that is dark in color... use that. It will be more obvious when you do get it to condensate out if it is almost the same as what you started with. On my RBA's that I'm using, I always get some condensation in the top chamber and it is always the same color as the e-liquid I'm vaping.

Ah, we are thinking alike! Scary.. lol. If I don't get busted is a win-win 'cause I can also use it to clean my attys. I hear 175 proof is good for that too :D And yes on the juice color. Had already decided to use Flux Rampage which is a nice dark brown color.

Should I use an airflow knob with this? I will be using a puck mod box.. if that matters..a good solid 5v until the batteries die. I was wanting one at some time,it might just be the time now...

I don't really know if you will need one or not, but they are always handy to have. I ordered a few that should arrive tomorrow, and even if I don't need them for air flow control, they'll make a good support base for my tanks.

i mainly just use one to protect the threads on my APV .. in this case it has the vapeonly's air holes completely unobscured (when fully open)

not sure if they'd be good for a tank support base..as they cut the air flow off completely if flush with the tank
