Hello All!
About three months ago now my partner came home with a green smoke ecig starter kit. A year or so ago I had tried an e cig from a gas station, hoping to find a way to quit "analogs" without actually quitting smoking. The gas station e cig was just another expensive failed attempt at quitting, and I was back to what I considered "real" cigarettes by the end of the day. I've been smoking regularly since I was about 14, was over a pack a day by the time I was 18, and topped out at 2 packs for a couple years. I've wanted to quit for the last decade, and I've spent the last couple years really trying to quit, but except for a couple week long or month long breaks, I couldn't keep from lighting up. I was skeptical when I received the green smokes, but I was told great stories of online chat boards where others said that e cigs could work if you got the right kind. Apparently the green smoke was a good one, so I decided to give it a shot.
I'm not sure if the info came from this board, and it probably didn't, but thank goodness for these boards!! I have spent every spare minute obsessively gathering intel from this board and youtube to guide my journey. It hasn't been a seamless transition and I had a few slip ups that first week, but I've gone a solid month now without even thinking about smoking.
Everything I needed to know I got from here. Having a spare battery being lesson number 1. I upgraded to a Vision Twist 1300 Mah, with a kanger T3, and a vision clearomizer for home use, and decided to try 24mg juice. That was a huge improvement. Quickly I dropped the green smokes and started carrying my eGo around with me.
Last night I went and got my first mech mod, a Sigelei #9 with a couple 18650s and an IGO L. (And something called the Cutie that I can't find any reviews about but is amazing and makes the plastic gear I had been using taste like burning... plastic)
I built a SS mesh wick with some ribbon wire this afternoon, and that was killer! Unfortunately (fortunately) after all the warnings I received reading this board and the store that sold it to me I felt like I was vaping out of a live hand grenade, and had to take the head off every two draws and compulsively check the resistance on my multimeter and double check that the fuse was still attached to the battery. That being said, it was still amazing and vaping that is just about as great as I've been told it would be. As I develop more confidence in my coil making ability I think it'll become really enjoyable. In the meantime my mod is awesome!
So, between feeling like I won't ever need to buy an analog again, getting the best info on gear, and learning how to successfully vape on an RBA, I feel like the least I could do was introduce my self and say thanks.
So, thank you so much for all the great and life saving info you have put up here!
