First off, thank you to everyone who posts here about different products. It really helps.

Now on to the tl;dr part.

I started vaping about 2 weeks ago, was in my local gas station, buying my normal Winson Lights. On the counter was a slick display of Blu disposable ecigs for 10.99 each. So I figured what the heck, I'm paying almost $6 a pack, give it a shot. Opened it up, took a drag, and it blew my mind. I had some serious preconceptions that an ecig wasn't going to be anything like a normal smoke, for sure no throat hit, no smoke, just a strange nic. delivery system. I have tried nasal sprays, patches, gums, inhalers, etc. I figured it would be something like an inhaler. So let's just say I was pleasantly surprised, and really thought it would work out. I still have the original disposable, and it still has some juice in it, believe it or not.

Well, that was the last pack of analogs I bought. I used the blu disposable for two days in between analogs. I have to say that blu's idea of tobacco is not even close. More like burnt coffee beans. Quick little bit of research online showed that the starter pack came with a few different flavors, was $60, and my local gas stations (not the one I normally go to, but one down the street) carry the cartos. Ran into walgreens, grabbed a starter pack (passed on their $15 carto refills) and was instantly hooked on cherry crush. The blu mini worked real well for me, but I would still take an analog if offered, but only 1 or 2 a day. The starter flavors (tobacco, menthol, java, cherry, vanilla) were all ok, but didn't last very long. Bought a refill of the cherry, and they were better, maybe newer? but still about 1.5 cartos a day. Then I found the ECF. Ordered some liquid from Jonson Creek, and planned a visit to CigNot here near Chicago.

Well, today it all came together. Got a chance to stop at CigNot while I was working (had a run into chicago, cignot was 10 min out of the way) but I was in a big hurry, so didn't get a chance to really enjoy the visit. However, the salesperson understood my rush, and got me setup quick as you please. Walked in, told him I know what I want, and he just started grabbing things. Got an eGo-C kit with pass through 650mah batteries, type A tanks, high res attys, a twist 1000mah, and 5 juices. On Top (cherry), vanilla, watermelon, and menthol and mint for a friend of mine. He did take the time to show me proper assembly, cleaning the stock juice off the atty, and how to switch voltages on the eGo C batteries. He even got the juice ready to use with a protective cover on the tank. Once he was satisfied I would get the right flavor, he took his condom off it, and passed it to me.

First hit off the eGo and I was amazed that a product like Blu could even be sold. I got 1.2% juices (I want to get to 0 eventually) and the eGo actually gave me a buzz. Thanked them profusely, paid my bill, and got back to work, and set my twist to charge. Used it on whatever charge was in the 650 until the twist was ready. I liked the std battery, but the twist just gives it the little tweak I need. I like a vape that is just about hot enough to feel, but not quite. I start off at the lowest setting, and then bump it up until my drag warms the throat, and then drop it down a notch. Man, I love this twist. Visited a few analog friends, and didn't even think about grabbing one, it's that good. Then I got home, and guess what got delivered? My juice & empty cartos from Johnson Creek. My fault, but they all came 1.8%... It's fine, of the 6 I ordered, I'm only going to use 2, maybe 3.

So for those of you on the Blu, JC sells pure VG liquid in the Red Oak line. You are most likely looking for Rainier - very very close to the cherry crush. The Vanda is IMO, exactly like the vanilla in the Blu cartos. My wife says the vanilla smells like vanilla icing, she likes it. I also got Island - Pina Colata flavor, it's the other one I'm keeping. Swiss Dark - supposed to be chocolate, I didn't like it at all. Solstice - Raspberry/watermelon/honeydew, didn't get any raspberry, very little watermelon, but the honeydew comes through... if you can stand their tobacco flavor, because that is in there to... not for me. Summer peach - actually has good flavor, tastes like a peach hard candy. May keep it around, but with all the other flavors it will be a last resort. So if anyone in the western suburbs of chicago wants some free tiny bottles of swiss dark or solstice, hit me with a PM, if we can meet up, you can have it.

Now the On Top from CigNot is a sweet maraschino cherry flavor, and I love it. In my opinion, it is better than cherry crush - no fake tobacco mixed in. Their vanilla is good, I think the JC is better, the JC has a thicker almost creamy taste. The watermelon is what I'm vaping now, very light flavor but absolutely delicious. Not the fake jolly rancher watermelon either, more of the middle of summer big old chilled watermelon after taste, when you get a really ripe sweet one.

I was probably only in the CigNot store 10 minutes, but if you are in the area, stop by. And bring a 510 compatible battery. They have carto testers for each flavor they stock sitting on the counter. Must have had around 50 of 'em. Wish I had the time to try a few, but I did alright with what I got, and will be back there for more and soon. Fair warning, it is in a downtown area, parking can be an issue. Check google maps, and look at the street view. They're about a block off 64.

Now, a question. What is the difference between low res and high res attys, besides the obvious? Does one make more vapor? If I had to pick something to complain about, it would be the small amount of vapor I get out of this setup. Flavor is good, nicotine delivery is excellent, and I can dial in a heat for throat hit. Ok, maybe one more complaint. Can't leave it hanging out of my mouth and take a drag whenever I want... but the tank is compatible with the Blu batteries... looks stupid as can be, but it does work.

So, tl;dr had blu, got eGo, love it. Got some nice juice too. Haven't thought about a cigarette yet. Yay.

Nice work! And welcome to ECF! I started on a Blu kit as well (well if you don't count my failed attempt with an Encore kit last spring). You'll notice as your taste buds come back that the juice Johnson Creek sells isn't as close to Blu as you think, but that's not important. What I would recommend is that you don't start stocking up on juice now, as your taste buds change some of your favorite flavors are going to end up tasting terrible. Order enough to get you by, but not multiple months worth. Except for maybe Vanda, I've been vaping for about 2 1/2 months and that stuff always does the trick. Then again taste is very subjective.

I'd recommend keeping the Blu kit around with some pre-filled carts, and they're a lot cheaper on the Blu site when you order a 4 pack ($10.40 per for the premium 100 and free shipping). Yes this is expensive compared to the other options, and they take forever to fill orders, but the Blu's have saved me from analogs more than once. Don't order 14+ boxes like I did though :p Most people on here won't recommend that but when one tank is drying, another tank isn't hitting the way you want, and you've run out of carto's you'll be glad you have it.

Glad you're off to a good start, it only gets easier as the days go by!

I may have to keep the Blu around, if just for hands free vaping. I didn't toss any of the used carts yet, and I've refilled a couple already tonight just to have on hand. The vapor problem with my ego was I didn't prepunch the tanks, I let the atty do it... so there was the little flap in there blocking the liquid. Now it's producing vapor like an old steam locomotive. Love it more and more. Just need to read more threads I guess.
